100% Agree, the Browser in Ableton is much better than the Pop Up one in Bitwig. You just know where things are and the two column design works great.BrokenTrance wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:01 am I also prefer Ableton look and feel over Bitwig. And as some said they wanted at pop up browser in Live, i don't like this. To each his own i guess.

In that case, welcome back and I hope you enjoy the thread!WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:43 amI have 10 Live Suite and use it and other DAWs, it’s not perfect and neither are they.revvy wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:26 amIt's a Live thread. Bye!WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:33 am To the people advocating for Bitwig and Live I dislike the way both UIs don’t trust people to move the component windows round to match the way they’d prefer to work. Set sizes for certain panels are frustrating and I really hate constantly having to choose between access to midi item content and the active plugin window. The teeny squished mixer is horrible too. This rigidity benefits just two sets of people IMO - people doing video tutorials and lazy documentation providers.

Not sure if this is it but you should be able to find it on this website - https://www.abletonthemes.com/themes/frost/13375
I found a nice theme that matches the Maschine software so now when it’s open they both look uniform
Signatures are so early 2000s.

Or with CTRL+F if you want to search for something.ReleaseCandidate wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:05 amThat. I always close the browser and let it 'pop up' with <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<b>.BrokenTrance wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:01 am I also prefer Ableton look and feel over Bitwig. Or with the Hot Swap button (Q) if you want to load a preset.
The only downside is that the browser doesn't always automatically hide after you finish your action.

About the library: depends how you configure Live 10, you can setup another directory for Live 10 to use. But when importing packs to Live 10 they get updated and you can't use them with 9 any more.EdSfer wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:38 amThis means I might not even have the choice (which makes my life easier after all). Might be worth mentioning I'm on Windows 10 though, don't know if it changes anything.leeleema wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:33 am I believe it will be a separate installation. Pretty sure that's what happened when I installed 10 as I had to manually uninstall Ableton 9. That's on Mac OSX

Excatly! But Bitwigs tagging and filtering functions are better. Maybe after another update ....Rivanni wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:52 amOr with CTRL+F if you want to search for something.ReleaseCandidate wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:05 amThat. Oh, that's a useful information, thanks. Not sure what you mean by "importing" packs though?ReleaseCandidate wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:59 am

I ended up installing the 3 months trial version of Live 10 (don't know if there's any difference with the "paid" version) and it didn't ask me anything about the packs (it looks like it didn't download any either) but they're all here, in "Packs" as if I was still on 9 so I'm not sure what I should avoid doing if I don't want them to stop working in Live 9.

When you install an older Live Pack, the '.alp' file, either per 'File->Install Pack' or by double or drag-and-drop, Live tells you that it is updating that when installing to your library. Or something like that - has been quite some time now.EdSfer wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:33 pmNot sure what you mean by "importing" packs though?ReleaseCandidate wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:59 am

The best thing I liked about Bitwig browser was the ability to audition samples, plugins or presets in context/in place.
You can try out different samples, synths, compressors presets etc without leaving the browser and without permanently changing what is currently loaded. With just pressing cancel you go back to the original content. Super useful. Wish something like that was in Live 11.
