To their credit, they ARE getting better. Still super menu divey, but the newer vector graphics at least feel modern.

Harrison AVA Spectral Compressor for $19, e.g. here:

Is this a good and useful plugin? Are there competitors that do the same thing better?

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 5:42 pmI am demoing Reference 2 and Metric AB right now and while both are great, I am leaning towards Metric AB.
Yeah, if had to pick only one of the two, I'd also go with MetricAB.
You should at least take a gander at MeldaProduction's MCompare. Like everything else Melda, it puts in every feature including the kitchen sink and wraps it up in a GUI only a mother could love. But it is amazingly flexible, including use cases other than just reference tracks, such are comparing before and after effects chains in your mix and stuff like that. And if they have their (usual?) 50% off everything Black Friday sale, it'll be cheaper than the others too.
Thanks, I will give a look at MCompare. But honestly, I am not a big fan of their GUI and also I am not into the Melda ecosystem. Also, if I am not wrong, they charge 20% of RRP as license transfer fees, which is something I take into consideration when buying any plugins these days.

FWIW, Reference 2 adds the before and after effects chain feature with an add-on plugin, but I am not seeing that plugin in FL Studio. The walkthrough video shows it getting used in Logic Pro X.

The biggest PITA being that the RRP they use is the non-sale price so if you bought it at £50, but the retail is £100 then you need to pay £20 towards the cost and everyone knows the 50% sales are on rotation so there's no way you're going to get anything like your money back.

Yeah, exactly. Just like Waves, albeit higher fees than Waves. With all these companies selling plugins for cheap most of the year AND with high license transfer fees, resell value of such plugins is almost nil these days.

For example, some time ago I wanted to sell some Waves plugins, but before I could see any interest, Waves came out with V12, which made WUP mandatory to sell them, basically making reselling a pointless waste of time and money. There are 4-5 plugins that I would probably never use, but they will always be with me. Perhaps I should use them now.

Does anyone know what happens with your individual product Melda licences when you upgrade to "Everything forever" ?
Do they disappear from your owned products list or are can they still be sold on without affecting the 'everything' status?

About the free sample packs from Slate, does this link work for anybody? Or is it for monthly members exclusively? https://slatedigital.com/free-sample-pa ... 3mawzsqpov

Is not quite clear...

I assumed they would, but thought I’d ask just in case it opened up a route to affording it. :tu:

Sell them first and then buy the everything license? Would that work?

Yes, but the price would go up.

sorry, what do you mean .. you feel the Exponential Audio reverbs e.t.c are not as good sounding as other iZotope reverbs?
That the standard of the reverbs (as well as the interfaces) are not quite up to the standard of the other recent izotope effects (ignoring the older stuff like iris and trash for a moment).
I think you're getting tricked by the ugly GUI. The reverbs are world class - made by one of the most renowned reverb designers in the world. Even Sean from Valhalla DSP highly respects this guy.

Correct. There’s this talk where Sean is asking questions to Michael Carnes and he’s amazed by his mad skills and genius. Not saying Sean isn’t a genius. Just saying that Michael is a reverb legend.
