The feature set deviates a bit from a pure DX7 emulation:
e.g.
- 21 oscillator waveforms (Sine, Sine 12bit, Sine 8bit, Triangle, Saw, Saw HD, Square, Square HD, Additive Saw3, Additive Sqr3, Additive Tri3, Additive 12345, Additive 1+2, Additive 1+3, Additive 1+4, Additive 1+5, Additive 1+6, Additive 1+7, Additive 1+8, Noise S/H, Noise White)
- 11 filter types (LPF 12, LPF 24, LPF MS-20, LPF POLY6, HPF 12, HPF 24, HPF MS-20, BPF 6, BPF 12, BRF 6, BRF 12)
- 5 operator modes (FM, Ring Mod, Filter, Filter FM, Wave Folder)

An opsix emulation definitely wouldn't be in keeping with what David and company have done so far. I do seem to recall that David expressed interest in doing a straight DX-7 emulation though, and I'm hoping that's what they're working on now (there was a hint that it's something that's not been "fully announced" or something). I'd definitely pick that one up.tonedef71 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 3:21 amPerhaps you thinks right, but I thinks I understands them.gentleclockdivider wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 2:34 am Me thinks you don’t really understand plogue’s philosophy
I mean, chipsynth MD is currently my favorite soft synth overall. Not just by Plogue, but by anybody. Dexed (well, KQ Dixie on iOS) is a very close second.

We indeed have a straight up DX7 emu in the pipes. More details later.

If I can submit some early DX7 requests, sysex importing, vintage and modern velocity option, and a unison/unison detune feature to make big stacked sounds in 1 instance of the plugin would be cool.davidv@plogue wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 2:35 pm We indeed have a straight up DX7 emu in the pipes. It would be cool if your DX7 emulation included direct online integration with https://www.thisdx7cartdoesnotexist.com/

Any possible ETA on the release of it, or is it too early to tell? I don't want to buy FM8 or Arturia's if Plogue is making one. Love you're other synths.

We've stopped giving precise estimates since we are always off. This is currently our next synth, but
things can (and often change)

just a heads-up for those not on the plogue mailing list: Plogue's Black Friday 50% off deal has started.
I just bought chipsynth sfc a few hours ago and am currently enjoying listening to old SNES soundtracks immensely!
