I try to avoid being opiniated but chrisstiles, sorry you are just wrong about this. I can only speak about R4, admittedly a flagship plug, but that might just be the best algorithmic reverb available. Izotope bought Exponential for the quality the reverbs bring to the Izotope name.masterhiggins wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 3:38 pmCorrect. The reverbs are world class - made by one of the most renowned reverb designers in the world. Even Sean from Valhalla DSP highly respects this guy.chrisstiles wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:23 pmThat the standard of the reverbs (as well as the interfaces) are not quite up to the standard of the other recent izotope effects (ignoring the older stuff like iris and trash for a moment).telecode wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 4:49 pm
sorry, what do you mean .. you feel the Exponential Audio reverbs e.t.c are not as good sounding as other iZotope reverbs?

Fair enough -- I'm wondering now if my bad experiences were down to iLok woes (which I've also had)leeleema wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 4:26 pmI try to avoid being opiniated but chrisstiles, sorry you are just wrong about this. Apologies if I seemed harsh, not my usual style, ha. But honestly, R4 is such a super lovely lush reverb. I think the sound and preset functionality alone mean only minor tweaks are needed, so there's not much need for constant tweaking. And IMO, the GUI really isn't that bad eitherchrisstiles wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 5:19 pmFair enough -- I'm wondering now if my bad experiences were down to iLok woes (which I've also had)leeleema wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 4:26 pmI try to avoid being opiniated but chrisstiles, sorry you are just wrong about this. Nah, it's cool, if I wasn't here to learn there'd be little point hanging around. May give them a try again if I can sort out ilok's stuttering audio.leeleema wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 5:31 pmApologies if I seemed harsh, not my usual style, ha. Tom is excellent. I don’t know how he does all that he does and still keep his sanity. My impression of his transfer policy is that it’s the least involvement possible while still giving it as an option.gondii wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:05 pm Yeah, this didn't leave the best impression with me either. But aside from the wishy washy transfer policy, Tom from Mastering the Mix is very responsive and has always answered to my mails super fast...

Absolutely. When I got into the MtM plugins about a year ago I sent him an E-Mail asking if there would be a discount if I just get everything and Tom immediately sent me an offer quoting the lowest prices they would be over the BF sales and a discount on top. I have written him a couple times since and he is always replying himself and really fast.
Reminded me of when I got Serum and wrote to Xfer because some files were missing in the install and Steve Duda sent me a google drive link 15 minutes later. Like... aren't you busy with other stuff? Really appreciate when the dev is this involved with the community. u-he/Urs is another example.
The "no support" of MtM license transfers just somehow feels strange to me. Like... what if there is a problem? You pay, but you're not a customer... they allow for transfers, but somehow not really? A bit incomplete. But it doesn't bother me that much, their plugins aren't that expensive to begin with. I guess you have to show a receipt when you purchase something in a shop, too.

Does Arturia's DX7 V by itself ever go on sale?
Idk if I need the whole V collection, but I love the sound of DX7 V.

From time to time they have deals, mostly 50 percent off, on individual instruments. If it's worth it, you'd have to decide for yourself then.

What from the V collection is actually worth it? I already own Diva, Repro, and Model 72. I know the DX7 is an accurate remake, but how do the others hold up?dangayle wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 8:11 am The price difference is ridiculous, might as well buy the full collection if you're going that route. Buy one for $100, buy 40 for $200. (exaggerating, of course)
