You're wrong, apple has BILLIONS of dollars in offshore accounts.
Last time i looked it was about $200 billion, so i'm sure they do have access to endless resources. :)
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

You do realize that they are shipping new computers with new chips and OS and that makes sense for Apple to update their software to be compatible immediately?

Catalina? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that.
I lost my heart in Cap de Creus

if you open the app store, click on your account/name down there in the bottom.. logic will show up as a purchased app. double click on logic and it'll take you to the page and the update should be there. that's how i found it.

Are you f**king kidding me?
Well, here’s my stop.
Catalina is a nightmare.

You know what, it actually feels nice to jump off the update train. 10.5 is really nice and has just about everything I need.
If I ever get a new computer I’ll jump back on wherever Logic 11 or 12 happens to be at that point.
For now it’s a relief to say, hey I’m done.

If Logic too had a big update this week, we would have had DAW poisoning

Anybody here use Logic Remote on iOS?
There’s an update for it that says it adds the ability to control the step sequencer, which is cool, but it doesn’t say if breaks compatibility with Logic 10.5
I’m curious if anyone has a tried it out.

Yep, on Mojave for both desktop and laptop, don't want to lose my old as hell version of Office to Catalina, so until the 16"MBP goes Apple Silicon, I'm on 10.5.

dayjob wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 1:11 ami guess i need to do a survey of apps/plug ins and figure out what will break if i go to shitalina
Good idea. I'm going to do that too. Guess I don't have many 32Bit plugins. But 32Bit apps I still love. Eventually I will run a Mojave system for them on a separate HDD. Just in case.
Be aware that Catalina doesn't just break 32Bit apps, but also plugins that the developer hasn't certified. There's a workaround, via Terminal (and sometimes security permissions), to get them working, but a real hassle for every plugin that isn't Catalina ready. Found this out the hard way when i finally updated and a lot of my 64Bit plugs weren't working.
Thank you for the info.

This is nonsense, they did the same thing with 10.4.5 when they announced new Mac Pro Xeon's, but at least they made incremental update, but still killed one perfectly good version, now making maintenance update with point version and still killing one perfectly good OS version.

Before you could change line in info.plist and overcome their silly move or install with Pacfiist, but they got "smarter" and there's no silly workarounds like that working anymore, utter BS, still under the surface it's almost the same damn thing with fixed bugs, they didn't made Catalina for Apple Silicone either, there's nothing special in there, they could sell that story in favor of Big Sur, better they waited a little, fixed more M1 bugs, introduced some new features and made 10.6 Big Sur only, left this as maintenance update and everyone happy with "new" Apple.

I'll keep learning Ableton Live 10.5 Suite. Not upgrading to Catalina. I'll wait til the Big Sur OS fixes come out. Looks like another year of waiting for things to shake out.

The update has one new and useful feature... previously, Logic Remote didn't work with the new sequencer but now it does. Haven't updated to test it yet. I find Logic Remote really easy to use.
