You're not wrong.
You just need to be online when you want to access to the text to wavetable service.
I generally disable my internet when I make music, to stay focused and put it on if I need to use the Vital text to wavetable. I save my wt, close internet, and start playing with the new wt.
You can technically load an audio file having words and vocode and the results will be similar, right?
Yeah if you have your own audio file you can vocode it by just dragging it onto the wavetable.

So it basically turns a sample into a wavetable which can then be internally stored as part of a preset without the necessity to load the sample every time you load the patch? Am I getting this right?

Yeah, the best TTS engines are only available through web servcies. But you can vocode your own samples into wavetables locally so if you have a TTS engine on your computer you can just take the output and drop it on the wavetable.
Wowwee - I’m going to buy!

One suggestion to save cost is have interesting/common prerecorded TTS material available for download as sample content - also might help to show the end user how to get the most out of using TTS

Right. The audio file is stored inside the wavetable and the wavetable is stored in the preset. The wavetables in Vital are also non-destructive meaning it keeps all the original sources intact (except for data trimming). So if you load an audio file with some wavetable settings and save the wavetable, you can load it back later and change the imported settings.

I’d be interested to hear how using extended vowel strings would morph using a HQ TTS - example:

“ooooooooouuuuuuuueeeeeeiiiiii” - and so on; the question would be the speed/abruptness/pronunciation in the transitioning from one letter string to the next. Variations of this could be prerecorded for download, assuming that the TTS service produces the same results every time using the same parameters.

Edit: absolutely, Vurt! Male/female; In different languages; etc.

You’re a genius, as always!

So this is similar to Soniccharge Patternarium - an online tool, from which you can copy settings/content to your instrument...

Very interesting! You’ve been doing this a while, haven’t you? :tu: :hihi:

- so I’m very interested in what you mean by “data trimming” - is FFT preprocessing involved? (immediately what comes to mind via assumption)

No a lot more simple. If you import a 5 second audio file but only use the first second in the wavetable it'll trim the last 4 seconds when you save it.

Wow - so sample -> wt happens; and then is saved - sample 100% intact.

Edit: is the material/region in the sample to be trimmed and wavetabled fully selectable; freq and perhaps bit depth adjustable as well?

That is perhaps the bane of wavetable synths when it comes to sample import/conversion: most don’t have anywhere near (imho) an editor that takes real advantage of wt synthesis.

Having expressed that: yours looks new; fresh - I wouldn’t hesitate to pay you your asking price, mtytel. No brainer, really.

I'm entrusting you to the production/release of the swearwords wavetable pack.

Don't worry, I'm sure you can beg nicely and be allowed to resell it.

That's just awesome and wonderful and great. I could get the free version, but I want to support you and want to have some extra wavetables and whatnot. Besides, it makes sense to have the fully functional monster in its full glory. This is proper sh!t.

I foresee new genres being born from this synth
