V Collection is really quite amazing. I like the CZ V, Piano V, Matrix 12 V, Synclaivier V. Really, they're all great. The trouble is it will take a long time to acclimate yourself to all the different GUIs (unless of course, you owned the original hardware). The value is stunning at the 50% off price.

Even their Model D plugin which I no longer use itself is useful for providing good presets to pinch to set up on my Boog. It's not exactly the same, but close enough to get good results. Same with the Prophet 5, not as keen on the sound of theirs but can re-program a lot of the presets on u-he Repro and get better sound.jzero wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 10:15 pm V Collection is really quite amazing. Yeah the value is great and I think the pro-v and dx7 sound pretty good. But I have to say I really don't like working with those 3D interfaces, I wish I had an option of a simplified interface. I would try to get rid of my V collection 6 but now its on sale, so I don't think its reasonable to sell rn.jzero wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 10:15 pm V Collection is really quite amazing. Btw. how are the Arturia FX? Their UIs also are pretty extensive but I could use another effects suite.

They sound great. A really good selection of characterful effects. If you only had these and the free TDR plugins I reckon it would cover 99% of your needs and provide a good range of sonic options.gExpectations wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 10:57 pm Btw. how are the Arturia FX? What's the Boz Transgressor 2 like? Does it still only operate based on a threshold ? (which seems to me somewhat counter to how a transient based effect should work?)

Thanks for your input. The delays, reverbs and filters sound are alot of fun. And I don't have preamps currently so thats a bonus. Right now I'm mainly using the SoundToys bundle with a couple of single licenses (i.e. Meldas dynamic EQ). But I have to say after using them for a while, I'm not getting as much out of them as I thought (just from the perspective of how much I like working with them). I might get rid of them, I only really really like their microshift (super handy) and pick up the Arturia Suite for my price of 99€. Big downside on SoundToys is, theres no UI scaling.paulo72 wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:00 amThey sound great. A really good selection of characterful effects. in scientific terms I use the plugin to make my kick more or less boomy and my snares more or less pingychrisstiles wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:11 pm What's the Boz Transgressor 2 like? The threshold detector (which also has a ms lookahead setting) works much like a compressor and listens to the incoming audio and triggers when it detects a big change in the sound (incoming transient) - the triggering threshold that you mention above can be controlled - and then applies the changes in the Transient section to the start (basically a selectable type of Filter/EQ) and the Sustain section to the end (another selectable Filter/EQ). How quickly the transition is made from Transient to Sustain can be controlled by the Hold and Release control knobs.
As well as the section EQ there's also an overall Filter/EQ that can be applied.
Oh it can also react to sidechain.
It's a really good plugin provided you are prepared to work on your drums in separate channels. If anyone is crazy enough in 2020 to work on all their drums in one channel then it'll be f**king useless.
ION it seems to be update weekend for a lot of my products so rather than think about spending money I've been getting loads of new content for free. Trilian, Omnisphere and Xils PolyKB III all getting hundreds of new patches. I guess some of the updates may be to add Mac Big Sur compatibility?

I haven't tried to get it yet, but I remember something similar a while ago; they probably ran out of serial numbers and probably it will work again in a few days

I believe that would be reflected in its iLok license description in your iLok license manager. If it doesn't say something like "NFR", you should be able to resell it.dream22 wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 3:34 pm Does anyone know if the free plugin SLATE provides annually to "ALL ACCESS" subscribers can be resold?
A well-behaved signature.
