I read a comment on YouTube where Michael mentioned to open to plugin in standalone mode and it will download his presets automatically.

When you mod something, a little circle represents the mod amount. You can mod via : drag the MW modulator to the little circle.

There are Virus Ti waves for download for to use Serum + I think they work for Dune3 also, can you use those in Vital?

Post

Aww crap, I understand now.. in Vital you can only modulate another modulation once.. unlike Twin, Falcon, Avenger etc. Sigh. Ok, so if I have LFO modulating the Cutoff, that modulation can only be modulated once with something else and it 100% "takes over" that modulation, meaning you can not make a blend between the original modulation source and the one that takes over. This is far less flexible than FF Twin 2 for example.

Sinisterbr wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:10 pm Sure, but you're assuming your analogy is perfect (Vital=Racing car). Is it right, though? Isn't it too early to make that assumption? Have you already tried it? Maybe Vital is more like a great all-around SUV, using your analogy again. That's what I'm trying to find out.
I purchased Vital yesterday. If by bread and butter you mean simple Moog and Oberheim sounds then yes Vital is a race car.

If anyone can look at Vital's specs, spend even a few minutes watching videos and then want it for simple analog sounds then I think they have completely missed the point.

Yes it's got Saw waves and Low Pass Filters so if your definition of bread and butter is simple analog sounds it can do those although that's not what I'm going to use it for.

I wouldn't use a screwdriver to drive in a nail either I'd use a hammer.

At any rate it's only $20 now or just wait for the free version and make up your own mind.
Thank you. Yes, that's what I'm personally refering to, kinda simple, fat VA sounds.

Yet, "I wouldn't use a screwdriver to drive in a nail either I'd use a hammer" doesn't sound like an honest comparison. You don't need that to prove your point. VA synths and Vital are closer to each other than a screwdriver to a hammer.

I'll reinforce this again, I prefer to own just a handful of great all-rounders. I'm just trying to find out how to classify Vital.

SoundHunterrr wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:50 pm Why are some person so aggressive when some people ask "bread + butter"? Why not just answer nicely or no answer if you don't like bread + butter? I don't understand this, now this thread is turning to fight "no you don't need bread + butter" and very aggressive style, not frienly or help!

My advice: when some one ask something you think is not importnt for you, you DO NOT need to answer or no need to be aggresiive.Thank you!

Now concentrate to help people and talk about this instrument. Not fight if bread + butter is important or no!

ANSWER: Some maybe think Vital look interesting, easy to use and hope it can make bread + butter. Yes some other synth can make bread+butter but maybe they are not so easy to use? Or maybe they are too expensive? Or maybe people just want to use Vital for some other reason for bread + butter, that is OK! It is not away from anyone!!!! STop the silly fight!
Because at least four ppl including myself have asked him to describe what bread and butter means to him... The closest he came to doing so was one post that says stuff like is in Massive X.... Massive X is very diverse. We still don't know what he is asking for.
The LEAST he can do is give us a better description of what he means or simply wait till the 24th and find out for himself.
That is why.

You don't need to be that aggressive and disrespectful, mate. I didn't answer quickly that because it wasn't me who first asked about "bread and butter" sound in this thread, so I was waiting for him to reply.

Ok got it thanks. Drag from the MW box to the Mod Matrix Amount with LFO set to Osc Tune gives Vibrato.

How would one do the same for Aftertouch ? I don't see an AT box like there is for MW. An "LFO Amount" Mod destination would solve the problem.

Damn.. this is really quite a bit more limited than I was hoping for. We really need a SUM module for modulations. I'd really like to blend a few different modulation sources and control the amounts of them going to the target (or multiple targets). Am I missing something here??

Having spent a bit of time with Vital today, this will take over for my #1 synth spot for when I need maximum control of live playing sound, which is almost always as I rarely manually input automation. Vital is by far most in-line with how I visualize sound manipulation, and I'm making absolute bangin evolutions right out the gate. Just seeing how the first 4 macros are all put to good use in presets was my first indication, and it only got better from there.

Great job Matt, you got yourself a clear winner here, can't wait to upgrade.

Have you tried Vital?

Anybody got link to the discord channel? I should probably join it and ask my various questions there.

EDIT: Looks like my personal thumbs down stalker is active again. :D

Who would down vote that post ? Silliest "feature" ever added to KVR.

Anyway I'd be interested if there is another venue to discuss Vital as well.

It's just some dude/girl who is stalking me, literally giving a down vote for every single post I make on KVR. Doesn't really bother me one bit but does make me a bit worried for that persons psyche. He/she should get help. :(

EDIT: I think I found the channel. Never realized that cute icon on vital.audio website is the discord logo. I'm such a noob when it comes to social media (read: too old).

This seems to be the address: https://discord.gg/dpZxr98
