For example, with Nora you can route the midi to another track, in Nora you can set the different channel for different tracks. but Live will not allow you to filter out the different midi channels.
I raised how to do this with FeelYourSound who make ChordPotion and they said it can’t be done in Live 10 because Live maps everything MIDI internally to channel 1 on output, but they did suggest using BlueCat Patchwork to handle the different channel output of the MIDI plugin and that is a possible solution. Not a free plugin though obviously.

Still waiting to hear if this has changed for Live 11, but imagine it would have been listed as a key feature if possible.

Are you safe?

Thanks for the tip!

Anyone in beta - did you noticed it?

Is this an error on Centercode, or has (some form of internal / private) beta been running for well over a year? It's obviously to be expected that we're not the first people to try 11, but I'd think it would be few months, not 17? :o

Interesting. That explains why people are noticing inactive 10 Beta in the forum. They were busy with 11 Beta.

More than possible, it is beta version 19 we join at....it’s very stable (for me) considering how many new features there are, more like a release candidate, so I would think a year from the first beta feedback, especially as it mainly the more experienced guys (certified Ableton trainers etc) who get to try and break it and make change suggestions first...seems like they have done a good job to me (and nor breached confidentiality for a year!)

Also explains why the 10 betas have been moving so slowly!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Yeah, makes sense - it hasn't really registered with me now that it indeed is 18th beta :)

Also I'd imagine not everything was available on day 1. Some of the devices still aren't there, yet.

have ABEs clarified if the AAS collabs that are native to LIVE are or are not being updated with v.11.0 ??
I have the UltraAnalog3 plug and it's a step and a half better than the LIVE version in terms of sound design capability. I'd be super excited to hear the next generation of Collision and Tension . . .
peace
expert only on what it feels like to be me

Havent noticed anything. It feels that they'd be big bullet points on the 'new features' list if they were.

They're already updated VISUALLY (thanks God!) but I don't think you should expect any new features there - it wasn't implied or suggested by Ableton.

Yeah you are not alone. I am waiting for an invite too.

There's probably a limited number of beta slots.

Anyone here making music with mainly just Live sound content, instruments and effects? The current offer to upgrade to Suite and get 11 for free is very lucrative, and I find the idea of trimming down on the number of plugins and focusing on Ableton devices and included packs very tempting.

Unfortunately even the nice offer is a substantial amount of money during these troubled times, so getting rid of some plugins is actually necessary for me to make the plunge.

What are your favourites in the Suite? How do you find the Pedal, Amp and Cabinet? Do yuo use Analog or Poli?

Post

I wouldn't use Pedal, Amp and Cabinet on guitar personally,. but they are OK for dirtying up synths and loops
The AAS suite is pretty nice (and just got a face lift) - obviously they sound like the AAS synths (I think you can demo those?)
Wavetable Synth is OK, nothing special (although they just added MPE control) but it does the job. The sampler is great for real sounds and you get a lot of sample content with suite.
The packs are very high quality, this is where the real magic is (racks of Live stuff put together with fx and macros), looks like some good stuff coming with 11 (spitfire audio etc)enough HQ stuff to keep anyone busy for many, many years without an external VST!

The main thing for me (I had suite 10) is that '11' is so much better in so many ways than 10. If you like using Live it is an essential update in my opinion, and suite offers a hell of a lot of stuff for the money.

Yeah, like what's up with this synth? It was made to be this flagship synth for Live, but it's kind of bland and - what's worse - it's very heavy on the CPU cosidering its mediocre feature-set. I can get much better sounding patches from Serum or Pigments at half the CPU use.

Otherwise, I really like Live's devices. Analog and Operator get a lot of use, AAS synths can pull off some really weird sounds, Simpler & Sampler are obviously powerful if you put good samples into them, most of the creative effects - distortions, delays, reverbs, repeaters, etc. + the new stuff that was teased - are top notch as well. They shine even more once you start layering, stacking & chaining all of them, using the power of Instrument & FX racks, note effects, macros. Then there's the world of free M4L devices with a lot of gems there. And free VSTs. To be frank, I never even downloaded any of the sound packs, but I'm sure they're woderful, too :)

So yes, one should be good for years with "just" Live 10/11 Suite in most cases, especially for broadly understood electronic music.
