...yup, I thought human error the first time, when back in 2018 it was stated on both the front page, as well as on the comparison page (IIRC), that Elements would have side-chaining and the extended chord assistent. Even this small version had evolved quite nicely in comparison to C4, which was the last Cubase version I used, before I ditched Steinberg for a couple of years. Again, like the extended sampler track, these things are rather a nice-to-have for me, but not necessary. It's rather, that I don't like the impression they're giving, but on the other hand they already seemed to have lured me into itkmonkey wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:23 am However I think this is just "human" error, not intentional marketing misleading. Comparison table is there to prove it.
Such big releases often can have these little quirks. So it's best to ask and seek official confirmation.

Why didn't they just write that they have SamplerTrack 1 included in Artist and Elements, or something like that. I also find this very irritating. Not the first time that audio software companies state very confusing info about the features of their software though. It's more of the regular, than an exception.loachm wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:43 am ...thanks, Jan, but I specifically asked twice for someone, who has already upgraded to C11 Artist and who can answer that. If you aren't that person, then thanks. I asked here and elsewhere and also at Steinberg and I haven't gotten a definitive answer, yet. The reason, why I'm asking is, that at least since v.10 Steinberg is doing something, that can only be described as misleading advertising, as they're highlighting the included features of each version on the first page:

...and then doing this on another:

So, I hope, you see my point. As I wrote, it's not the first time, this is happening with a new release, and judging from my experience and impression, I suppose, the updated sampler track is only included in the pro version. I'm considering using Cubase again as my main DAW, and it doesn't matter that much, that the new sampler track isn't included in Artist, but what does to me is investing my time and money into a company, that does such marketing stunts again. Or seems to remove features from their versions - I'm, pretty sure, that Artist once had the extended chord assistent features, which are now only available in the Pro version. And forum posts like these, who claim, that they had removed realtime audio export from Artist, don't create confidence either.

I've never seen a music software company, who does such advertising or is removing existing features from smaller versions to make them exclusive to the premium version. They've thrown a lot features into Artist now and that's cool, but I'd rather have less features and instead the confidence, that they will still be there in the next version. If what I'm noticing is correct, then Steinberg's behaviour is quite hard to believe. But I'm not that familiar with the Steinberg world anymore, that's why I was asking. So, what I'm really looking for is someone, who could answer that to help me in my decision making and not someone lecturing me in an unnecessary manner. It is not my intention to waste your time, so let us stay civil and, please, return the favour.
Thanks!

I sincerely think it's just human error. Nothing evil or misleading. Think about it. It's so marginal that it's not worth to do it for any company. It's not like they intentionally lied about one feature which is not even that important. Beside there is clear comparison table.
Even though it's repeating and its frustrating to end user I am not having hard time to imagine how each and every year they have messy releases on their webpages. I truly don't believe this is down to one person doing this job. There are teams of people communicating in between and these things happens unfortunately.
Good luck in finding correct information.

I have 10 Elements (which I upgraded from AI) and have seen what seems a good deal on eBay (as included in one of their 20% off promotions) - ai to artist for £105 or so (boxed)
2 questions please ?
Do boxed upgrade versions come with dongle ?
Is AI upgrade to elements still ok to upgrade from Elements ? It doesn't say either way
Seems from reading various forums that it might not work from the higher elements which seems a bit daft - does that mean there is no boxed version at all of an upgrade from Elements to Artist ?
If I'm.correct I'd have been better off not paying for the upgrade to elements a while back
Many thanks

I was going to update my Cubase Artist 10.5 to 11. Well, Steinberg insists on having two different email/password accounts for their site, one for general and one for purchases. I use a password manger. Everything is messed up. I don't have these issues elsewhere. Steinberg, fix your site! I can't even make a purchase because of your poor website design/organization.
I am trying all of Steinberg's support channels. What a consumer nightmare! It is like getting warranty support for a item, but I am trying to give them money to upgrade a DAW. Why the hell is this so difficult? Doesn't Steinberg want my money? I am going to start looking elsewhere if this is not resolved within 48 hours. Absolutely ridiculous and no excuse...

Update: waited and waited for chat support. No agent available. Other companies respond rapidly. Someone at Steinberg is making very stupid decisions.
Looking like I will upgrade Ableton...

Not sure if I get your question, but, if your question is whether or not you can use your AI license two times, to upgrade to Elements, AND to Artist, then the answer is no. When you upgraded from AI to Elements, your license becamse an Elements license. So, all you can do now is to upgrade from Elements to Artist.Buckster wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 7:27 am Is AI upgrade to elements still ok to upgrade from Elements ? It doesn't say either way

I've suffered this in the past too. There's actually a 3rd username and password needed to use the forums too!HTT wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:43 pm I was going to update my Cubase Artist 10.5 to 11. Just reset your passwords at the various logins, no need to open a ticket for that. I also use a password manager, it makes it the process a lot easier.
