Yeah, I don't think the GUI is bad, just a tad too dark, mostly. If it isn't skinnable but you can change the color scheme (like TAL-Mod), that'd do for me.

Thanks for the analysis Mr. Freud  I didnt say, that Vital is bad. Features and usability are great, but soundwise i prefer others. Filters and overall sound of Vital are definitly discussable :?

Yep - i'm infallible  No seriously: There is generic electronic music and there's electronic music with soul and heartblood. But yeah - tastes are different ... even if i dont understand the different people

You shouldn't work in the dark on your computer because it damages your eyes - and not in the sunshine, either :!:

I've been using computers in the dark since the mid 1980's, my eyes are fine, but what that site is talking about is the glare of white light or blue light as it's typically called. The site you chose is an eyesore to my eyes funny enough lol. In any case it's precisely why I use dark GUI's at night in the dark. Typically, my room is lit by the ambient light produced from my other monitor in any case and that of the screens on my synthesizer keyboards.

First impressions: a very good synth - tons of fun to be had. I find the GUI to be very intuitive and user friendly. The sound is, as always, a matter of taste but I personally like it. Will buy the pro version.

Perhaps you should learn how to read one of these days?

>It turns out that using a computer in the dark can exacerbate eye strain. Not by a large measure, but enough that it may be worthwhile to reconsider how you use your computer in the evening.

Where do you see "damages your eyes" in that article?

I experienced eye problems because of sitting in front of a screen for many hours a day for years, so I don't think it's that easy with harmless eye strain only. For years, I had to stop working on the screen, only now it's better again. But do what you want, it's your life. I can only give hints, take it or leave it...

Hmmm... I'd like to get this now but I only want the free version. Fewer presets and wavetables appeals to me. I'd happily pay the $20 for just that but it looks like I have to wait until the 24th. Oh, well, can't please everyone and it's not liek I actually need another VSTi.

Send the developer the $20 so that he can buy a pizza with anchovies and just throw out the extra presets and wavetables...

The cool thing is that it loads third party WT's too...

Matt's very generous price points are going to have a few other developers scrambling to catch up...

If he sold 10,000 units @ USD $20 a pop, that would be enough to keep him in pizza for a few months :tu:

I hope, though, he will not get a salt intoxication because of all the anchovi(e)s pizzas :!:

I know times can be super tough for people, and I’m lucky that we’re doing OK, but the idea that you’d want a synth for $20 but are complaining about extra things that you won’t use... the mind really boggles.

I bought it. They had me at MPE. I look at it as $20 to make my Rise 49 even more useful. I’m happy to help out a developer who’s interested in making instruments with those types of features.
