using "solo" with MADEq

Ok, it's Monday AM here and I'm a little dense. I was expecting the "solo" feature to function in a manner similar to "auto listen" in the main panel. This is under 14.12b. What am I missing?.../s~

"Solo" just deactivates all the other bands. Auto-listen does that and more (my under-lining):
AutoListen
Auto-listen button enables the auto-listen feature, which temporarily changes the equalizer shape when dragging a band to let you see and hear what that particular band is actually doing. For example, when dragging a peak filter, the equalizer disables the other bands and changes this one to a band pass filter, so that you can focus on the frequencies that the peak filter is modifying.
Also, when this is enabled, you can click anywhere in the band's area (shaded) and the equalizer will let you listen to the frequencies at that position using a band-pass filter. This is great for searching for problematic frequencies for example. Vertical position controls the band-width. You can also hold shift to get this feature if auto-listen is not enabled.

...yup..got all that, and thanx of responding. That is exactly the functionality I would like to have when using the new band/filter "solo" feature. I would like make adjustments in real time to the target band while listening to just that band/filter.
Over here "solo" just seems to mute any of the other active filters leaving the full bandwidth signal minus the soloed band, almost the exact opposite of what was expected. I do use "AutoListen," but paring that with band edits entails multiple unnecessary redundant steps...consequently, my FR: from awhile ago.../s~

...sorrysorrysorry for any confusion
, and the new additions were nothing I would have ever thought of, but interesting none the less.
What I was trying to describe is the "band solo" function like in fabfilter pro-q2 where it is possible to listen to the filter/node all by itself while being changed/adjusted. It would be much like the "find resonance" function in MADEQ, just not automated in any way...hth.../s~

I somehow can't understand how that's different from the auto-listen feature. When it's enabled, you can click on any band's node and move it around. While you are holding on to the node, it creates a band pass for the node and you can control the width with your mouse-wheel.
Maybe you can post a screencast to show what it looks like in pro-q2?

Maybe part of the problem here is no mouse-wheel, magic pad/mouse. And here's a vid...

If I remember correctly from my apple days, you can hold the index finger down to click on the node, and then use middle and ring finger to scroll and adjust the Q.
Or adjust the Q before you click on the band.
I don't see anything different from the auto-listen in the video.

mmmmm...I don't get any "solo" here, but full track audio with the band adjustments on top, and not just the content of the selected band. "Auto-listen" in a separate function/feature from individual band adjustment, and it works as expected, although the gain does not seem to be changeable.
I will look into the magic-pad set up, maybe I'm missing something there...Cheers!.../s~

...well, DAMN! and dust my broom! I had never used "auto-listen" on top of a node before!
The most obvious of things to do.
I had always been just picking some random point on the graph and going from there. And I had to watch your video for quite awhile before realizing what you were actually doing.
So thank you so much for your persistence and effort, you are the best!
...Cheers!.../Steve~

And just a followup thought...maybe rename "auto listen" as "solo"? I never payed any attention to it before this whereas "solo" is pretty universal and would work in either case...Cheers!.../s~

@DS, granted that's all true, I was thinking in a more general UI sense. Whenever I work on a project for someone else I will request they install the free lib on their system so if/when they "guest" in on my system it looks a little more familiar. I've been all Melda for years now...Cheers!.../s~
