Definitely, avoid at all costs. Horrible synths, don't know why thousands of musicians like them.

It has a clear sound that can be modelled via the filters, morph modes and effects. 10 minutes ago I made a ladder square/saw string sound with Vital which sounds soft, clear and full. It's not that awfull washer sound like from this Hive or Zebra and I have both to compare, so I hear what I am writing. I also tested the sound when Vital is in the mix with other vsti and especially there Vital sounds better.
Hive and Zebra have very good filters, but in the mix they sound not that good because you don't hear that.I've never seen someone argue against themself so effectively going from "sound quality is better" to "bad sound quality".MorpherX wrote: Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:57 am After some more tests with this VSTi I come to conclusion that Vital has a clear but thin sound and the fiters are rather worse, because they always have a plastic and metallic character.
Finally I don't use this VSTi in a music project, because of the bad sound quality, but it's a good start for a v.1.0 release. So hopefully the quality of oscillators and filters will be improved.
Therefore very good VSTis have a higher price, because the devs like from U-He have invested in sound-quality.
Just goes to show how worthless other people's opinions can be.![]()
But if you then tweak yourself the filters and test the different filters you can come to an other conclusion, especially compared to other synths. And my first post about Vital was the first impressions.
Opinions from others should always be proofed with testing yourself if it's right. You should never belive them as they are subjective.
Some people here wrote that they find this filters great. That's also O.K. because it's their taste.
Everything user are posting here on KVR forum is subjective.
I can somewhat relate to that. Everybody knows what is being overly enthusiastic about a new synth and then, as you goes deeper into it, you change your mind (happened to me about Hive).
So why being (as typical kvr) so aggressive with someone because of that? Why so much bashing, so much shaming?

I think this is a nice review of the synth:BenfordLaw wrote: Sun Nov 22, 2020 12:56 pm Has anybody got any videos of anything that sounds impressive from Vital? I haven't heard a single preset yet that makes it worth bothering with.

Purely for the diversity of sonic potential, indeed, I'd be hard-pressed to argue it. And don't care to.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Anyway....Here's a few patches for Vital and a couple of Wavetables I created using Dune 3.
Just some "getting to know it" patches. To me a couple I would not consider "thin".

Oh and does anyone think there should be more categories for patch tags ? I don't normally tag my own patches but I do find myself wanting more than the ones provided. For example is a Gate patch a Pad or a Sequence or "Experimental" ?

Anyone know if there will be some kind of upgrade path to the "Pro" version if you buy the Plus now? I can't really dish out the money for Pro now but probably at some point later on.

Psupers essay entitled "The Honeymoon Period", is a study involving adults exposed to a variety of objects and experiences for the first time. Their assessments recorded over a period of a week.
The study found initial reactions to a given new stimulus were overwhelmingly one of two varieties:
1. Over excitement, praise.
2. Libel, disregard.
The study deduced that those two initial reactions were preconceived, and predictable in 6 out of 10 people.
The followup essays titled "Have You Ever Seen Anything So Full Of Splendor", "I Spent Too Much Money Already On Similar Shit", and "Hive My Mind" explores the reasons behind those two initial reactions.

the kvr official study sums it up as well: "reactions to new stimulus, discussed on kvr, leads to: over-excitement, praise, libel, and disregard... often in the same sentence".Psuper wrote: Sun Nov 22, 2020 5:37 pm Psupers essay entitled "The Honeymoon Period", is a study involving adults exposed to a variety of objects and experiences for the first time. Hi all guys, is there any feature in advanced panel regarding MPE?
I think that a set of min / max and mapping curve parametes for every MPE dimension (note on, note off, press, slide, pitch) is really needed on a preset basis beacause every sound needs its own response to MPE controllers without the need to set those things directly in the very hardware controller settings. Something in the line of Equator2 so to speak...thanks
