Some people just don't like them when they are too dirty. But some people like them really dirty. This is for those.
For me, I think it's not about how dirty, but what's in your dirt. I guess my main complaint, and this is probably just as true for the original, is that the high end is too attenuated. Anything above 6k is gone. I will try their tape machine, though. The Japanese one... I think my dad may have owned that.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is. Reels (the Japanese portable reel to reel) is definitely better in the frequency response, but still kinda limited compared to high-end tape.

One thing i like about Audiothing products is it knows that Steinberg/Vstplugins is your folder.

Ha, I always used to remove "Steinberg" from the path when prompted for it. It felt like Steinberg was claiming ownership of all those other developers' work.

C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins
C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins

Now I only install VST3s when that's an option.

The demos sound beautiful to me. Will definitely be investigating further.

Would love a physical model of a wax cylinder in the future - everything recorded on wax sounds wonderfully haunted.

Very much looking forward to more plugins of this ilk.

Well, that might be kinda hard :) I saw one in a flea market several years ago but it was already sold!

You'll just have to commission the building of one then. :D

I don't know if there would be enough buyers to justify the effort it would take to model - neither could I list all the possible equations required for the modelling.

Though I am interested to hear what you might create with the test gear that you have been collecting! :hyper:

they just sounded like a very old 78. I heard one when I was at school (no, I'm not that old, just old).

Personally I'm holding out for something that will do this.

Ah, that pristine analog sound, so superior to cold digital with its ones and zeros and its sample rates.
