calls for better tests were met with a photo of two teslas and a mercedes.

then, matt from liquidsonics came and made a decent test, that of course invalidated the initial crazy claims :)
So, bit for bit GS business as usual. I have no idea when I got involved in the first "my host sounds better than yours" debate for the first time there (or maybe it's even been here @ KVR), must be like almost 20 years ago, but it's been pretty much literally the same.
Some people seem to need a proof for 1+1=2 every day.

Coming up next: You need to outline that M1 with a sharpie for yet some realer results.

GREEN Sharpie only! Only a poser would not know this crucial factor!

I have two music systems, a macbook pro and a pc.... I try to keep them as compatible as possible, so any word I start on one I easily transfer and continue on the other.. I have Cubase on Mac and Nuendo on PC.
Thanks for the info!

Are you able to use both systems together simultaneously? I've heard RTP Midi can connect 2 computers together but not sure how well it works yet.

No you can't migrate your Data from PC but not many of your program or settings.... That is Audio files, DAW project files etc are compatible on both, but for the most part not settings (although like Nuendo PC settings are compatible with Mac PC settings etc).

So yes consider you have to reinstall every program and plugin on to the mac.
That's kinda what I figured but I read online about how an app called Wine that can supposedly run PC programs on Mac's. Anybody tried this?

I'm thinking I'll definitely make the switch over and hopefully I can sync up the two computers for the time being until I get around to installing everything w/ RTP Midi.

As far as the Mac Mini ins and outs go would an ASIO interface work on Mac or would I have to get a Thunderbolt interface? I think if my ASIO audio interface didn't work that would be a potential deal breaker for me honestly.

They are in completely two different rooms, so their only connectivity is they are on both the same network.

Asio (as of Mac OS X not OS 9) is not a Mac concept anymore. Apple writes their core audio stuff. Most Audio Cards, once they have usb (or even those using pci/pic-e) are dual compatible.

Nice! Do you have to use an audio interface for each or can 2 computers run off the same interface?

Kinda like running Cubase 1 in an Atari emulator.

But what is awesome (for me at least) is that it seems iOS AUv3 also runs inside Logic.

They can't use the same interface at the same time afaik. But you can unplug and move to the one you want to use (assuming it is usb or thunderbolt in some cases)

Finally my M1 MacBook Pro arrived and so far I really like it. Not much time to test a lot yet but I started with B2 reverb and at least even with Rosetta2 I can finally run at least 2X (or sometimes 3X more) than on my previous machine. Which is not the fastest with an older i7 quadcore 2.0 Ghz but this thing stays cold as ice and battery is not moving at all.
I like it.
Its funny that the iOS AUv3 apps indeed appears inside Logic as AU (but not all seems to work fine so far).
It just can get better and it is a really whole new feeling for such a small but powerful laptop which I was not able to hear the fan so far or to get it even as warm as my intel MacBook Pro just watching a you-tube video.

Yeah, these little buggers so far seem to just kill it in terms of performance. Even the MB Air is easily outperforming my 2010 Mac Pro in all aspects related to performance. Too bad the two mobile machines are pretty poorly equipped when it comes to connectivity. If I was getting one, I'd have to shell out at least around 300 bucks extra to have all the stuff running as I like it.
