Okay so it looks like ext wont run on my computer... a64 3000+

tracktion simply ceases to load the plugins.

Are you completely sure its EXT having problems? I have the VST, VSTi, and stand alone version running here. Tracktion never had a problem scanning any of them. If you recently installed any other plugs I would check those.

Ron, please don't take this the wrong way, but is it possible that there could be something wrong with your computer? I mean, you have DR005 that won't load properly, now EXT won't work either while everything I've read about it make it to be the most stable audio app around (I've even demoed it, then decided it wasn't for me now, but not for stability reason). Maybe it's time for a system wide troobleshooting session?

Yeah, I was wondering that too, to be honest ... You could try disabling all background processes and services, especially antivirus software, see if that makes any difference ...

the dr005 problem is completely different to the eXT problem. My computer has run fine with everything else. Tracktion freezes when scanning with eXT, and it can scan dr005 fine. i have AVG antivirus which hasnt screwed up anything ever since ive installed it, sp2 works fine. So I strongly feel that it's not my cpu.

The thing is, it will take you all of 30 seconds to disable all background processes and a/v etc, and try it, then you'll know whether it's something else you've got instead instead of just thinking you know ...

Fact is, hundreds of people (Including me) have used the Ext demo in tracktion. It doesn't work on your pc. So is it the demo, tracktion, or your pc that's got the problem?

I'll try it when i get home today. It did work on my 500mhz laptop, but not on the a64. We'll see what happens... I really doubt disabling the files I run on this laptop will affect it on my much better computer.... i mean im running the same exact programs in the background here.

Contrary to what chico has suggested, I usually start troobleshooting hardware side first. why? Because it's straightforward and, using the numerous offline testing utility it's quite simple. Often, hardware defect (bad ram, faulty sector on Hd, overheating etc...) can be mistaken as program or OS error and you can spend hours upon hours trying to find a software error while all it is is a ram module that's not pushed in far enough or a mobo jumper that came loose.

my HD, ram and cpu all are running fine. Every other vst/vsti works fine.

So sorry, from now on, I'll keep my suggestions to myself.
