That might be relevant for the “car check guys”. To be honest, though, I think it’s a largely outdated method.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 2:56 pmThey could model the sound of your finished track as picked up on a mono car radio in the Motown parking lotsimon.a.billington wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 2:00 pmI’m honestly surprised how they can keep finding new things at Abbey Road to emulate. Surely they must be running short on ideas now, as great as they are.
I seriously want them to start doing a Motown thing, personally.![]()
I’d prefer the “teenager watching TikTok with earbuds” modelling plugin![]()
Waves V12 is here, now with resizable GUIs

That's awesome news. Thanks!simon.a.billington wrote: Tue Nov 24, 2020 4:15 pmActually I read on Waves’ official forum posted by one of their dudes that hi-res graphics are indeed coming. I guess they just wanted to get a solution out there’s without making people wait for them to go through their entire catalogue of plugins. That kind of move would make sense.Virgil wrote: Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:24 am Actually I had quite a few plugins but sold my account. I hated having to install a program to install more programs... specially shells I didn't need too. And blurry big GUIs is not my thing. Lol.

Hi @Magnus_Norden,
I must have misunderstood your question, we do plan to improve the sharpness of the resized plugins on Windows, although I cannot yet provide an ETA for this.
So yes, we have heard this feedback and have passed this to our developers.
Thanks

Got a great upgrade offer from a dealer for Waves "Platinum Upgrade" from "Gold + RenMaxx, MaxxVolume, PuigTec EQs, MetaFilter, Smack Attack".
Adds 10 new plugins (only a few seem useful), plus all plugins will be V12 with WUP for the next year. And a free plugin to choose since the amount is more than $50.
Assuming Waves will release V13 next October, I should be covered by the WUP. Not super essential, but sounds like a good deal to me. Though not ideal, could use a few plugins at 125% size and hope for better GUIs in V13 for free under WUP.
Hmmm.

i'm still on v9 or v10 depending on the plugin, i hope the new CLA plugin can be installed side by side... alternatively, it's black friday, so maybe i can get a good deal on WUP.
EDIT: can't use Black Friday coupons on WUP. well, v9/v10 it is!

V12's do not work on my 2010 macpro running 10.13.6 without Metal video. I installed the free one today and it does open in Reaper but the UI is blank. So it may be that Metal is all that's necessary despite Wave's site saying 10.14 is the minimum. However I can't entire confirm this. I'll stick with my <V12 Waves. I stopped buying them when they changed their transfer policy to require WUP. So no real sense of loss to me.

Yeah sorry man. Some time after posting my response I realised I should have found the specific link for you. That was a pretty “douchebag” move on my part. Sorry about that.Virgil wrote: Thu Nov 26, 2020 7:12 pmYeah, hard to find, but found it:simon.a.billington wrote: Tue Nov 24, 2020 4:15 pmActually I read on Waves’ official forum posted by one of their dudes that hi-res graphics are indeed coming. No doubt it will take time. Personally I think we’ll see it come out in stages, possibly over a 6mth period or maybe a year.

That’s the one problem I find with the vouchers, well, that and you can only use them to get up to 25% off on a plugin. Well, actually that latter one was a complaint of the past, but now that you can pick plugins up on sale for $30-50 it’s actually quite reasonable from that perspective.Burillo wrote: Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:28 am i'm still on v9 or v10 depending on the plugin, i hope the new CLA plugin can be installed side by side... alternatively, it's black friday, so maybe i can get a good deal on WUP.

Just went through a re-install of all my vst plugins and the waves stuff was about the worst of the bunch. I have a handful of waves plugins, but I require shells 9 through 12. To install the oldest plugin had to download a 4gig installer that contains the entire ver. 9 back catalog . I could of course upgrade them to ver.12 for half of what I initially paid? I have not been a waves users all that long, so It seems logical that an upgrade to 13 would not be that far off.
I feel like I should have paid more attention to the waves program before I bought in.

I really like the blurred look. Are there any other developers with similar looking interfaces? Maybe with wooden cheeks?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
