One thing I'd recommend if you want to load up on MIDI grooves is to check out groovemonkee

you get loads more patterns for the money than you get from EZ MIDI expansions which I don't rate as good value. With the BF sales they're half price now too.

I prefer Groove Monkee to Toontrack midi.

So it seems the discounted EZdrummer doesn't include a free EZX. Does anyone know if you buy from reseller and register it later when the promo is back, do you get the free EZX?

Don't know the answer to that, but I think the core EZdrummer product comes with a good number of drum samples. You just won't have anything particularly genre specific. Even the free EZdrummer lite package from days of yore came with the 'cocktail kit'.

The Cocktail kit can also be installed if you upgraded to EZ Drummer 2, it's in the Product Manager. It has several kits and includes brushes. I only found this out today, I wanted brushes but wasn't keen on purchasing a EZX.

I've just seen at sweetwater the avenger pick 5 bundle for 168$ . It's great price (one expansion for ~33$) ,
however I was thinking is there any possibility to achieve further discount , for example with coupon codes or anything ...

It has been as low as 50% off in the past. 40% I was slightly disappointed.
There's no possibility of further discount. I think Sw work out the price with V and its firm.

Another big vote for the combo of Groove Monkee and EZ Drummer2. One of EZ Drummer's most useful features for me is their tap-to-search function that lets you tap out the basic kick/snare pattern you want, and then searches for matches in the midi grooves libraries you own -- and ranks them based on how close they are. This search includes any Groove Monkee libraries you've imported in.

Moreover, I find the Groove Monkee packs to be of great value and extremely useful for the genres I work in -- rock, country, indie, folky-acoustic. They work in many other drum programs, too, including Slate. Highly recommended, especially on BF sale.
