While perhaps not applicable for u-he, most plugins on splice go on regular and sometimes very deep sales. With rent to own you always pay full price. iZotope, Arturia... pretty much anything except Xfer. That's what I meant. But due to u-he's licensing it's out of the question anyway. Instalments could possibly be an alternative?

Maybe. If you have someone like Paypal Credit handle it all for you, it might be easier than going Splice. But what do I know? I'm not under the impression U-He wants to go that route either anyway. Why would they, if they don't need to? I'd rather got the impression, U-He wants to keep things as simple as possible. And any form of credit, rent-to-own etc. is probably less simple than just click, buy, forget (or play).

Yeah I agree, I didn't mean to imply that they should offer it. Just another option. Simple is good!

But surely something like Splice takes a cut, theyre not a charity.
U-He would have to pay for the privilege if the customer isnt.

Then why not do it like others do? They require Splice as long as it's not paid. After the final payment is done, the buyer receives a personal serial and kinda moves from Splice to your customer.
Agreed. It's a weak excuse. Splice is as simple as it can be.
so is buying it outright
Not an option

These days are gone for good. But let's not go there.

Splice must cost something. Either the developer eats it, or the customer does.
If I were running a software company, they'd have to really make it worth my while to do business with them.

What a stupid and patronizing answer. You think we have 500 eur to spend each month on vsts at once?

Still no-rent-to-own and no Black Friday deals in 2020, I'll pass (I mean I have most u-he products already anyway, half of them cracked, half of them friends gave me their licence).

Have fun saving/spending money :)

ok cracker.... I don't have €500 to spend on vsts each month..... if you can afford rent to own, you can afford to save a bit each month to buy it outright, simple maths

you clearly prefer to rip off a dev, and think it's OK to moan about lack of deals and sales? Youre a joke, and then have the gall to call me patronising?

get a life you sad act

Are you 13 or so? You clearly don't understand business, nobody is obligated to offer discounts, and you're embarrassing yourself here saying that you haven't paid for the developers work. Maybe when you grow up and start trying to make a living you'll get it.

You can crack / steal as many plug-ins as you want, as many samples as you want, as many soundbanks as you want, it is only illusion and it will never overcome the lack of talent!

So true ... Music doesn't come from gear. Nor anything else tangible. It lives in your heart!

I love being cheesy.

Why is it called cheesy?

That's a good question. Seems like there are some hypotheses about that. One is learning every day...
