exactly, I skipped the upgrade last time but will wait for $99 and upgrade down the road.

Agree.
I'm pretty sure that Arturia will sell the V8 Upgrade for $99 next year in March/April/Easter-Sale...
I think it was black friday last year when they had the v7 upgrade for 99.

Edit: ok v7 release was April 25th, so 7 months
What you don't seem to be taking into account is that, from now on, if you skip an upgrade, the upgrade becomes more expensive, which I think makes sense as a way to reward the people who have been paying for upgrades more often
I'm thinking I'll squat on V 6 for the long term. I don't think they'll ever offer me a path to upgrade below $199. The best route would be to buy V 8 second hand and sell V 6.

I actually wouldn't call it rewarding since it is the same price it would of been anyhow. It is just more if you have an older one now.

Only got Arturia effects but now consider V8

With new Additions the bar is raised to 600

Introprice 500

Logged in I got 400

But we all know that 50 pct usually comes soon

So I just wait for the 300-offer 😁

I gotta say its nice not to own the Arturia Collection at all so I dont have to shell regular upkeep on it to stay current and fend off the FOMO that comes with a new V release.

Tyler Durden's Fight Club quote "the things you own end up owning you" really rings true the more plugins and vsts you have..

That’s why I stick with Analog Lab

They are some positives of Arturia 'ELITE' pricing strategy. Developers like CherryAudio or TAL will flourish more as they provide options to people looking for more or less the same thing.

Do you see a specific upgrade price for Lab 4 in your account?

It's free if you have Lab (at least it was for me).
Just install it, it didn't show as an update option for me in the software center, but was shown as a license in my user account at Arturias website.
It's huge and rather laggy on the interface/loading of sounds side of things. But other than that, it's a great collection and I think I'm very happy with it, considering that I got it from a testing unit of a Arturia keyboard I once had for a couple of weeks many years ago.
My ears tell me that it sounds better, but that may be totally "oh, new free gear" imagination

Comes with less presets than v4 so you may want to keep that around, v5 is a separate install.

I'll stick with Lab too ;-)

Cheers,

Tom

I have V collection v 4, which I got from Arturia for 49.38 € when I upgraded from one or two licenses I got really cheap or for free. I'll maybe upgrade to the latest collection when I see an offer in the same ballpark...currently my special offer is 299 €. V collection 4 includes the latest Analog Lab, so there is still something new to play with.

The BUTE Loudness Analyzer Stereo is on sale at VSTBuzz for €29 - is it much better than the loudness analyzer from Youlean :?:

(with plenty of serial numbers on stock). We’ll take 75% off The Carnival just for fun as well at https://www.sonokinetic.net/sale
Thanks for the free Carousel gift Sonokinetic!

It's great to hear that there are plenty of serial numbers this year. I know some KVR'ers have been a bit upset in the past when there wouldn't be any serial numbers left after 10 minutes.

Post

well, I am having issues registering Carousel in My Native Instruments account.
I have a serial in my Sonokinetic account, but NI Access says "it doesn't belong to a known product".
Maybe it simply takes some time for the two accounts (Sonokinetic and NI) to sync?

[EDIT: nevermind. closing and reopening NI Access did the trick]

BTW: Thanks to Sonikinetic, I am a past customer and I have bought almost teir antire catalog during Xmas sales :-)

I had Analog Lab, but I got V 6 in an offer I couldn't refuse for $150 (that was unseen back in the day). I was thinking I could sell it later and maybe even make a buck, but now you can get it 2nd hand for cheaper. I'm not sure I want to sell it for less than I paid and I like fiddling with their Hammond B3 in a way you can't with AL.

I agree with the people that says that AL is more than enough for those of us who are not into dialing a patch, though.

Arturia thinks they can go back to being a luxury seller after the V 6 fire sale, who knows.
