Note to the dev / patrick -- the VCO Frequency Modulation does not update correctly in the display as you slide the switch through the options. When I slide the switch to VCO-1, the display still says "BOTH" even with the switch visibly set to VCO-1. If I *keep* sliding upward, the display eventually updates to display VCO-1. There is no display at all for the XMOD choice (it displays VOC1 when XMOD is selected).

I'm not sure, without testing yet, what is *actually happening to the audio* -- e.g. is this just a display issue, or is the actual configuration not updating correctly as well.

Confirmed. It's just a visual thing, the sound is as should be.

Started demo, deleted after 10 min, tried to make a patch and that ultra loud noise is really over the top and it goes on for too long.

Super weird thing: if I start from default plugin state when it opens, set both oscillators to 8' and no finetuning, it sounds dead flat. No beating between oscillators. I refuse to believe this is how the actual hardware unit behaves

I ended up buying this just to make that godawful demo noise go away. So the policy has certainly proved effective.

I stopped trying the demo because of the noise. I guess it's a wash so far. One sale, one no sale.

One GREAT thing Arturia added on theirs was to choose if you sync osc 1 to 2 or osc 2 to 1. Which actually makes the crossmod much more useful.

The orignal implementation is not just as flexible , funny really since clavia also had the og on the nord leads
Iirc , even Urs said that swapping the x-mod around makes a lot more sense ( when it's the sync master ) , or swapping sync

OK so the finetuning issue is definitely something that needs fixing I think... I cannot get the RC version this dead in tune when oscs are just always in phase. There's always some millicents offset that adds that slight beating between two oscs. Arturia version can be relatively dead (play middle C, set finetune to -0.040 st) but EVEN THEN it has very slight beating. TAL-J-8 just doesn't have ANY beating if you set fine tune to 0 cents. Super weird, this is not how hardware analogs work.

Hmmm it does do that over here.

Maybe because you have enabled multi out in your daw , this way the lower/upper part each gets their own audio output and the master volume has no effect .

The attack is also pretty consistent, as if the oscillators were phase-locked or something, similar to the Juno if I remember correctly.

Not sure it is a bad thing, though, as one can remove it by fine-detuning, if necessary.

Yeah FL Studio has this weird thing where it enables all outputs for the plugin even if you didn't tell it to. Go to FL Wrapper settings and disable secondary plugin outputs.
