There is henke's old m4l for 8 CC knob device. It may or may not still work.fluxqueue wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:48 am I really hope they implement better MIDI CC editing, with multiple lanes. Would really help for working with Kontakt orchestra libraries.

Is there anything more one can do to get the beta than join on Centercode? Or do I have to join Live 10 beta project there first?

Anyone know if they finally fixed the pitch mapping issue? Where you play back and it is all wonky until it resets?

I think MPE, comping lanes, and better multi-clip editing plus the stuff for the FLS crowd are worthy of a full dot. At least by todays standards. However, I don't really need the new stuff and they reduced the amount of space in the MIDI editor, so I have no particular reason to switch. Until they stop supporting 10 at any rate.

It feels they bolted exotic (at least for live) features on it in their “simplified approach” which had been working for other fundamental stuff. The cost of this compromisation ended in the piano roll main area having less space.jonljacobi wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 5:39 pm I think MPE, comping lanes, and better multi-clip editing plus the stuff for the FLS crowd are worthy of a full dot. Nope, they redesigned the whole editor area.tooneba wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 11:43 pmIt feels they bolted exotic (at least for live) features on it in their “simplified approach” which had been working for other fundamental stuff. It’s a bit nebulous but having been using the 11 Beta for a couple of weeks it feels much more stable.

OK whatever. You can call it redesign if you feel better. Redesigned to leave useless grey area to reduce more space of the main piano roll for fun.Rivanni wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 12:45 amNope, they redesigned the whole editor area.tooneba wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 11:43 pmIt feels they bolted exotic (at least for live) features on it in their “simplified approach” which had been working for other fundamental stuff. I mean I get what you are saying but I think the design in 11 is better. They consolidated panels that used to be either hidden or in different sections. The PR has Note/Envelope and now Note Expressions directly embedded. That imo has made them easier to find and also has improved readability. What Live 10 did in four hidden panels that you have to click non-obvious buttons for are now just two panels with one being expandable.tooneba wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 3:17 amOK whatever. The Clip Panel now has all the most relevant clip information in it fully visible right out of the gate. In Live 10 some stuff that was actually relevant to clips was actually in the Notes panel (clip length, start position, whether it loops etc.) which imo made no sense.
Follow Actions are now an extended panel of the clip section which imo has a better flow and better clarity imo.
I do agree that having the Notes panel embedded and always visible takes up more space, it would be nice to be able to hide that but I think it increases discoverability for newer users. Where now things like /2 and *2 notes, legato, random etc can all be done with a click in an always visible panel. The new panel makes it more discoverable to do these things while also making it more readable since every function is more spelled out (invert vs just inv etc). For a new user I can see this being very helpful.
Also if you have the Notes panel and the Envelopes panel open in Live 10 that takes up more space than in Live 11 since the Envelopes panel is now another tab in the PR view. That made no sense in Live 10 because when you click on the Envelope panel it switched the context of the PR to edit envelopes. So consolidating that into context switching tabs imo makes a lot of sense.
I really think the new design is really slick. It's very well thought out imo.

That is the point people find controversial. They chose to killed only one bird with one stone when you can get two. Why more useless space? Just use that useful spaceapoclypse wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 4:11 am ...... That imo has made them easier to find ....... discoverability for newer users.........
But that is the way when you use tool? You bring the tool to the free area on the table to use it and put away when you don't need it. By the way why don't use wasted area on the table for more efficient workspace? You can bring more tools there. Then Ableton came with "lol No! We put new furniture on the table! Guess what? We added new tool in there! Are you happy?"Also if you have the Notes panel and the Envelopes panel open in Live 10 that takes up more space than in Live 11 since the Envelopes panel is now another tab in the PR view.
They may be able to come up something by the release date.

The white space personally doesn't bother me at all. I think it makes the interface more readable. But I also use Live on a large screen and in general have pretty bad eyesight so readability is more important to me than it may to others. I can see for example it being an issue for users who primarily use Live on their laptops with no external screen.
