I bought GainMatch a about a week ago. If Ilya (developer) watches this thread, I have a suggestion regarding the interface: to me it looks like there's lots of space wasted inside the big circle in the middle. I think, it would be nice to have the numerical display there in a bigger font. Something like that:

Also, I'd love to have a simpler mode that just displays the "delta" with a smaller interface.

It can be used as an Auto-Rider with a fraction of the price. Nice tool; the 9$ are yours!
Maybe add the possibility to change the adjustment time so it will be more precise/custom as an Auto-Rider

Having an arsenal of plugins doesn't make you a better mixing engineer. It only supports your laziness.

Thank you! Many users ask for the separate "delta", so probably we'll do this. Regarding difference value on the knob - I don't think it's convenient, and can be confusing (the knob controls gain but shows different value on top), so we'll leave it as a separate button for now.Scarlet Pumpernickel wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 4:16 pm Also, I'd love to have a simpler mode that just displays the "delta" with a smaller interface.

Thank you! You can change RMS time, and the auto-adjustment time is twice RMS time (if it is smaller, then it starts jumping back and forth).Brickwall wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 6:00 pm It can be used as an Auto-Rider with a fraction of the price. Nice tool; the 9$ are yours!

I got it and i sometimes dont get what is happening.
Sometimes it works and sometimes its almost as if it gets confused
I put it before and after my master chain on the master. I wanted to compare A-B with and without the chain.
I get crazy results that are nowhere near equal loudness. I get huge jumps.
Of course i might be doing something wrong but what could it be? I switch "Auto" on and it still does not reliably do what its supposed to do. What am i missing?

It's hard to say without watching what exactly is happening on the track and the plugins. If you could make a video of that and send to support@letimix.com we'll try to help you out!Sutniko wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 11:54 am I got it and i sometimes dont get what is happening.

I dont do something complicated. One Gainmatch instance before the mastering chain and one after. I then switch of the mastering chain but what happens is weird and also very slow .
Will make a video later and send it to you.
Thank you in advance

I just bought it! its nice but I dont understand how it works. why the Auto fonction is not by default since its the goal of the plugin to match before and after levels? what is the use of the numbers on the big gain knob? why would I use this if I only click on Auto (in studio one I put it on by default for each time) thank you great product

The "Auto" function is an "addition" to the main idea of a plugin - a simple gain knob with a meter that shows difference with before signal and with a single click applies that to the gain knob.Plajia wrote: Sat Dec 19, 2020 2:54 am I just bought it! its nice but I dont understand how it works. why the Auto fonction is not by default since its the goal of the plugin to match before and after levels? what is the use of the numbers on the big gain knob? why would I use this if I only click on Auto (in studio one I put it on by default for each time) thank you great product
I never liked the "Auto" gain compensation in compressors, for example, cause it not always helps and not always is reliable. I prefer to keep gain "static" and set it manually, though easily.
I wouldn't trust AUTO in some situations. Though I'm thinking now about making an option to enable "auto" by default, for those who needs it, so maybe in future versions!

Ilya, I see on GS that someone asked for a peak mode for the before-after mode. You replied that it doesn't seem to do much sense. (I tried to reply there, but GS is frozen for me at the moment, quote doesn't work and stuff...)
Well, this peak mode actually makes sense for me. I always try to make things a bit louder while not going over the peak of the original sound. I tried the plugin called Tone Empire LocnessV2 yesterday between two instances of GainMatch. Because the RMS was increased by Locness, GM compensated by lowering the gain. So the peaks after GM compensation were also lower than the original. To conclude, I'm not looking for keeping the same RMS, I'm looking for increased loudness within the same peak level.

You can use one GainMatch After and set it to "Target Loudness Mode" and select Peak (instead of RMS) in the status bar. This way you can set a peak value you want GainMatch to keep, this will probably do what you need!

Thanx for the reply! Yeah, guess I can do that, but it's pretty far from automatic (I have to check the original peak values and then insert them). I kinda have to do half the work, if you know what I mean.
