MSF Resonator Negative Feedback?

Does anyone know what happens with negative feedback in the resonator module?

It seems to add sound one octave lower, but I don't understand how that is related to negative feedback.

Imagine your signal is the positive part of a sine wave (first half of a period). Then imagine you repeat that a few times. And then imagine you invert odd ones - do you see it? You basically created a period twice the length.
