Taking a closer look at MDrummer this week.
One reason I'm looking for a new drum module is because it is extremely frustrating and time consuming dealing with tom tuning.
Toms are pitched instruments. Any other pitched instrument is triggered at the correct pitch by the note triggering it, but when toms are treated as unpitched percussion, the tuning and intervals never match between sets, etc. It becomes a huge waste of time doing something as simple as swapping the tom sounds or creating an intermediate note.
Is there some automatic way to quickly and easily use any tom set at the correct pitches so sets can be swapped out without retuning each drum?
Also interested in some of the tom packs from 3 Sigma here: https://www.3sigmaaudio.com/items/category/toms/, so wondering if there's anything I should be aware of when purchasing 3rd party tom libraries as it relates to loading them into MDrummer... or as it relates to using them melodically as described.
MDrummer: Automatic tuning of toms to match note triggering them (like any melodic instrument)

Also, I see that some 3rd party tom packs are available in different formats. Would it be best to just have a folder of wav files, use some kind of file renaming tool, and use the generic library import funciton, or is there some particular preferred way of getting MDrummer to recognize some other existing format so it properly loads multisamples?
I've got TONS of libraries too for Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums, BFD. Would be an early Christmas if there's a way to load any of those. Searching for that in a bit...

I'm afraid no automatic tuning. See, no dev time and honestly I'm not even sure if it is actually possible. Drums usually have multiple unrelated resonant points, so it could just pick up the wrong one and all hell would break loose
. But who knows, perhaps one day. Btw. I don't think any of the drum machines you mentioned is available in an open format (such as WAV files).
