Waveform 11 Free won't record

I get this exact error mentioned here but I tried the solution (running as admin) and it didn't work for me:

There have been a few reportings of "Record fail" over the past few months. I don't know if anyone has really found the source but someone recently indicated that it might be related to antivirus software.

I had suddenly the same problem. I figured out that my antivirus programme protected the path were waveform tried to access. After I made an exception for this folder I was able to record wave files again.

Yeah, Antivirus is one of those necessary evils. Every time I download the latest Beta version, Avast won't let me open until it has completed a "virus scrub".

People still use 3rd party anti-virus?! They're largely a con these days. Targeting older less-computer-savvy folks with bullshit fears.
