How can I route the metronome inside the daw for when I might need to render something with an audible click?

How can I create a click source on a track without performing gymnastics with Midi and/or the bundled drum machine plugin?

How do I stop the click from hitting the Master meter without having to create a Master track?

Where do I choose the division of the grid lines (1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64...) ?

What is the keyboard shortcut to insert a marker in the transport position? - Solved

Thanks.

Ok, I found out that the keyboard shortcut to insert a marker at the transport position is 'enter/return'. The shortcut doesn't show up on the Keyboard Shortcuts section of the settings, though.

For the metronome: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=544415

Shorter answer: you can't record the metronome, you'll need to make your own. If that's gymnastics, then you might want to do some stretching. ;-)

I don't understand your question about the Master track.

You don't choose the grid lines in Waveform; the grid lines choose you. (It's based on zoom level.) If you're wanting triplets, that's selected with the time signature.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yes, the grid lines are based on zoom level, but from a very early point they don't show up, anymore. They do show up on the ruler on top, though, but not along the screen. At least I can use the transport bar to help, but it's not ideal.

Yeah, the metronome routing and sourcing is a simple feature* across almost every daw, I think, would be great to have that flexibility on Waveform. *(simple to use I mean, don't know about implementation, so, sorry if I'm talking about some utopic impossible thing to code).

I love Waveform's tempo bar and how easy it is to manage different time signatures and what not, but it's strange that, although the metronome outputs to the master meter it can't be recorded.

It's cool that you made a template with it, and I thank you for linking to it, but still, would be cool to have natively.

And the question about the master track is related to the routing of the metronome. In Waveform the master meter reads the metronome. I'd love to be able to stop it from being read on the master meter while still having it on.

Thank you for your reply, cheers.

- Where is the Pause button? Not Stop and go back to where it started, but Pause where the bar is passing.

Sometimes I'm searching for a section of the song while it is playing, and press space to stop and that spot, and it goes back to the beginning. I want to retain that functionality but also want a way to stop/pause playing on a specific spot. Clicking would do the trick on other daws, since theres a separate transport bar and playhead. In waveform, we only have one transport bar/playhead and most of the times it's difficult and confusing to get to a wanted spot in the track.

Turn off "Return cursor to start position when play stops" under the Options button on the edit screen, to stop the cursor doing that. Then Space starts and stops the playback, with the cursor staying where you want.

You can bind a keyboard shortcut that stops and returns cursor to the start position, if you want both options, under settings / Keyboard shortcuts, it's not bound to a key by default
"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"
