Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 1:06 pm I've somewhat narrowed down this issue of notes cutting off in Bitwig. It only happens when the project is playing, and the notes cut off at the start of the next bar, which is why they seemed to be cutting off at different times when I was playing. And why I could write in a note that was longer than a bar and it would not sustain the whole clip.

I've been checking the settings to find if there is anything that could be causing this but it happens with the new init patch as well as patches so I think it must be a bug.
Can any other Bitwig users in Windows confirm this?
Yup! With transport on any sustained note will die in a couple bars's time. Win10, BW 3.3, Seaboard RISE.

EDIT: this doesn't happen w the default sound. I can get it to always happen with concert violin and a couple of other patches, but not with a "new" sound. I wasn't seeing it before because I was only playing the patches I've been cooking up, starting w/ default. So I don't think it is global.
It doesn't cut off reverb or delay, or ADSR release times, just sustain and decay I think. you can check this, some sounds are so drenched in release, reverb and delay you can have a hard time telling that it's cutting off. You can check this by turning release and FX off.

Oh and it's a cross platform bug, I'm on OS X.

Just to update this thread, I realized that it cuts off notes bing played when the arranger loop retriggers. So if it's mid clip in session or notes are held live, they cut off when the arranger loop reaches its' end and returns to the start. It's been over a week but haven't heard back from Roli yet.

why is there still midi?

I finally heard back, in typical email tech support fashion I’m having to explain again the bug. I think they’ll get it though,

Hopefully it doesn't take as long to address as the Cypher parameter movements removing modulations bug. That is downright shocking how long that has not ben fixed.

Yeah that one is frustrating, it makes me wary of really making a lot of patches for Cypher, makes it almost seem end of life. I suppose that’s how Roli rolls though. Equator was certainly long in the tooth before it got an upgrade..

What’s frustrating is they have to know, AngusFX posts on here often enough.

Yeah he acknowledged it in the Cypher thread. Said something about it being touch to fix due to the modulation system being unique. But of course it was pointed out to him that other synths use a similar mod system and don't have that bug. I really have a had time understanding how a company lets something like that go. A decent dev would fix that immediately.

Well to be fair, there is something to the thought that an issue might run too deep to be an easy fix. I remember Ableton taking ten years to implement Clip automation, and I’m certain it was high priority for them. Even so, this is an annoying bug that should be addressed.

Similar, not the same. But does Strobe have the same issue?
Brzzzzzzt.

Maybe I just didn’t find how to do this yet, but can alternate tunings be loaded in?

What's up with the 24 hour wait to get a serial number direct from Roli? How antiquated.

Retro delivery is all the rage with hipsters.
Ideally you have time to grow a beard before it arrives.:)

Seriously Roli? The plot thickens. From 24 hours to 2 weeks to receive a new license? This is unacceptable! Not just the holidays either, since the average response time posted on their support page was 2 weeks back in June. 🙄

Thanks for letting us all know how long it takes. For that reason alone, I aint buying that garbage
