I haven't visited this thread for a while, and I see people are already talking about what I was going to bring up.
I think the "thumbs up, thumbs down" thing needs a looking at, as in; If it's going to continue to be used the way that it's currently being used, just get rid of it.
This for example, seriously. What's the problem? It's a genuine sale, and in fact getting pretty close to being a no-brainer.

But not just this one, nearly every post has the stupid "down thumbs", just take it away if it doesn't even mean anything.

Edit: Oh, and I wanted to start the ball rolling by "down-thumbing" my own post (but wasn't allowed to). Yes, I know what to expect any time the stupid thumbs get mentioned.

Or maybe you need to accept that people don't necessarily like the same posts you like? Everyone gets thumbed down from time to time and I don't recall anyone being burned at the stake for a poorly rated forum post.

No, it's like a game around here. Any time some one mentions the thumbs, the "down thumbs" are piled on, I'm just saying, I don't care about that, but I do want to discus the thumb thing, because it really doesn't mean anything at this stage.
I'm not Pettinhouse by the way, I was using it as an example.

Ah, Ok, that'll be it then. I guess they all came from that. And I will say, the only time I ever 'down thumb' is when a chat comment pops up in the "Sales, no chat" thread.
But still, when I see a guy like JRR Shop getting down-thumbed, it's just not on.
If it's mostly just there as nothing more than a tool for trolls to be a**holes with, then it isn't needed at all.
