I agree with others that say you need to know what you want it to do to narrow choice. You want straightforward all-purpose, specific, or weird? I happen to like mturboreverb. Great variety out there.

The Lexicon PCM bundle is on sale for $238 at Best Service, ATM, plus you might be able to use the "2020" code to get $20 off. You really can't go wrong with Lexicon. The bundle includes around 5 reverb models; I really like the "Random Hall" (sounds great on pads).
A well-behaved signature.

I couldn't begin to pick just one reverb.
I have a rack of hardware and plenty of plugins and would be hard pressed to pick just one, for any price.
Although, there have been some excellent suggestions.

A mixture of R4, Phoenixverb and VVV is great but other choices include EOS2, Sparkverb, the old but still good classic reverbs from IKM, Valhalla Room and Plate and Xenoverb.

I’ve tried out most reverbs outside UAD and there are so many really great products available these days! We really are spoilt for choice and it can be very overwhelming.
My favourite reverbs that I’ve tried are:-
1/ Acon Verberate 2
2/ Exponential Nimbus and R4
3/ IK Sunset Sound
4/ Kush/ReLab GoldPlate
5/ LiquidSonics (all of them)
6/ Rare Signals TransAtlantic Plate
These reverbs cover a huge amount of sound options. Of these I tend to use Nimbus, IK SSSR, GoldPlate and Illusion the most.
IK’s SSSR is the newest reverb I have. I picked this up a couple of days for £31 in the current sale using jam points. Whilst this reverb is pretty new to me, it has started to replace my other goto’s in a couple of projects. SSSR realistically captures the sound and character of Sunset Sound Studios and sounds wonderful on a wide range of sources. I also love the simplicity of the gui which adds pretty much all the controls I need.
Nimbus is great at adding very realistic clean nautural sounding spaces to a source (though Verberate 2 and Cinematic Rooms also do this as well). I tend to use this on classical projects. It also uses way less cpu than all the others on my list!
GoldPlate has a really rich old school sound that can sound wonderful on jazz vocals (though I also really like SSSR and TransAtlantic Plate a lot as well). However, this uses the most cpu out of any reverb I’ve tried so far (including the Waves Abbey Road Plates/Chambers)!
Illusion has a rather unique sound that is very smooth and pretty dense. I like some of the rooms and halls in this reverb.

Waves Abbey Roads Chambers is very, very good, but very cpu heavy. My go to drum reverb.

A YouTube channel is showing Dua Lipa’s Don’t Break my Heart Mix session (2021 Grammy winning album), and the vocals use Pro Tools stock D-verb, Waves Renverb, Pro Tools stock delay, Soundtoys Echoboy and Waves H-Delay. In this case old and stock plugins did the job.

fake:
everybody knows it has to be $250 or better more per iLoked “now this time 105% analog for real“ plugin to unleash the magic and not something ancient like actual craftmanship!

Just grab one algorithmic reverb of your choice and one convolution reverb of your choice, and you are set for life. They mostly all do the same thing, the differences are subtle enough that most wont be able to hear, and thats 98% of your audience, if you have one.

I'd recommend getting all four Valhalla reverbs. They are great and will have you covered for most situations. Alternately you could get a second hand altiverb license for around 250 or less. It's an amazing collection of IRs with a great interface and insanely low cpu use. Those five are what I use 99% of the time.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.
