So I've loaded Iris 2 on a track. With other plugins such as Collective/Biotek2 or even 3rd party ones I'm able to use my MIDI controller (arturia minilab mk2) just fine and the MIDI learn functionality works. However, on the Iris 2 plugin not even the mod wheel is working.
I can't even automate it, and Iris 2 has its own internal "MIDI Assign" mode which works really well on the standalone (if I just open Iris 2 directly without a 3rd party host like Waveform), and the wheels work on the standalone too. But this MIDI assign doesn't work inside Waveform.
I can use MIDI learn for knobs and such (not for the wheels as I said), but if I do that it's very very slow. Waveform even freezes if I use some knob, until I stop and the software catches up since it's so slow.
Has anyone seen anything like that happen to some other plugin? And if so, anyone got any luck solving it?

I haven't experienced this, but will caution that Iris 2 eats up a tremendous amount of resources. What does Waveform's resources monitor show when this happens?
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

It doesn't seem to go any higher, but still the DAW is not responsive during the parameter change including the CPU Usage window. If I open Windows' task manager I can see that the software goes up maybe 3% or something, which is very low, but it does show the software is "Not Responding".
Are you able to automate parameters on Iris 2? If so, how do you do it? I guess using the internal MIDI Assign would be useful for creating presets, which I can do in the standalone and then just open them in the DAW, but if I want to record the automation I guess using MIDI Learn is the way to go. Still, the wheels seem to do nothing no matter what I do. The recorded automation still shows in the track recording but it affects nothing, so I guess this could be not related to the MIDI controller itself but instead in the bridge between Iris2 and Waveform.

I have not tried automating Iris2, but wonder if there's some deeper issue at work. It sounds however like you've done much more thorough testing and experimentation than I expected. I'm hopeful someone here can help.

Here's a thread on Iris 2 from the instruments forum. Possibly similar to your problem. This doesn't appear to be a problem unique to Tracktion. Hopefully one day iZotope will update it with some bug fixes but I think it's highly unlikely.
