Why is the VST3 a folder rather than a file? None of my other VST3's are folders in the VST3 directory.

Patrick is still trying to figure out that one. Reason rack,vst3 and i think two more of my plugs appear as folders rather than files in my vst3 windows folder.

That's the new VST3 plugin definition format (and how JUCE implements it too) since VST3 SDK 3.6.10 (the "bundle", which is a Mac concept, on Windows it's just a folder).

Yeah the delayed lfo is on my Juno as well as my emulations of jupiter 8s, but I don't immediately recall it being on any other synth (real or emulation) that I've played from that time. Maybe it's on that mess the CS-80 calls an interface and I just never noticed because it's too hard to look at.
I'm still unsure if I like this or the Arturia plugin better, but I definitely like the interface on this better.

Oh ok so they switched from a file to a folder structure. Has anyone figured out what combination of Cuttoff Freq and Key Follow values are needed to make the filter res play on pitch with each midi note?
Assuming it's possible on this synth. I know it's not on all.

I don't seem to be able to get xmod to track at all. What I mean by this is that when you hold a note and increase xmod depth, there are points along the slider's travel where pitch center is stable. This then holds up and down the keyboard from that point (not necessarily over the entire keyboard but certainly in the surrounding octaves). This greatly increases the timbral range of a synth, in my experience.
I have been unable to find any jupiter 8 videos on youtube that show this but since is possible in the arturia jupe v4 (and numerous other analogue synths) I assume that the original did track in this way. However, J8 does not seem to want to do this. Pitch stabilises on individual notes, but not even on the notes on either side of the tuned note. Has anyone been able to use xmod for anything other than inharmonic sounds?

The Arturia synth, until version 3, seems to have a lot of fold back aliasing. You can see that very clearly in the spectogram. That's really strange, because it is an emulation of hardware and hardware doesn't alias....

It confused me a little because I saw that part at 14:28 with very clear foldback at Nyquist, went back and tried the V4 demo and couldn't replicate any of that (and already tested V4 for aliasing when it was released, it didn't have problems). Then eventually noticed the V3 GUI later on in the video.
V3 had pretty evident aliasing issues, but the newly released V4 really solved that.
With that said, I tend to prefer the TAL version for some reasons, mainly MPE and the GUI.

Yeah, the GUI has me reaching for the TAL plugin more over the Arturia so far in the past week or so. We'll see if that's a continuing trend.

Felt like he hear wanted to rush to get a video out there and put some conclusions on YouTube to get views before really understanding the products in the comparison. Not the first time I've seen that and something I hope the creator learns from and improves upon in the future.
