you have to read what i wrote, not just rant on. there's nothing wrong with a second opinion; if you only live inside your own head, you miss so much in the world, the real world. am not hurt (just, perhaps, annoyed, disappointed). why is is so hard for some ppl to keep these discussions on track?revvy wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 4:57 pmThat's the saddest thing I've read in a long while. This might come off as nitpicky but for Vital to have the same role that Blender has for 3D the source code would have to be available. It isn't available and this is perfectly okay.kone2006 wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 6:39 am Wishing a Happy New Year to Matt Tytel.
I just feel Vital is to synths, what Blender is to 3d.Anybody from Anywhere in the world can download Vital and start using,I hope commercially also it is a success for him.
I think Blender is developed in part by having movie projects which in turn need certain features or improvements which are then implemented using the available source code. If Vital was also similar with regards to this approach then there would need to be projects where people create songs or albums which are created by using new features (e.g. synthesis methods, sequencers, etc.) that are coded while in the process of creating the songs.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Hi Blitbit,
I agree with what you say.i am aware of the opensource nature of Blender and how it is developing.Nature of 3d field is also broader as people from different professions use it.I was looking at how Vital a full featured synth with contemporary ui is accessible without complicated copy protection etc.,and how like Blender it can be a enabler and catalyst for art/artists.(like there was a sudden jump in image quality after Cycles renderer came in Blender).

Vital is nothing like an open source model, and doesn't want to be. Open source isn't designed around profit, nor quality, nor requests granted, though sometimes you'll get all three. My businesses run on open source apps and firmware, from the CMS to the network, desktop and beyond.
Vital is the F2P model -- offering something people want for free, with payments for items that no one needs but is nice to have with the benefit of helping the developer continue producing high quality content.

Have you tried Vital?

Still does not remember its MPE state! Needs an urgent fix.
Steps to reproduce as an example in Bitwig OS X:
Open a new project,
load Vital,
select any preset,
Set MPE state active,
Save project,
quit Bitwig,
relaod Bitwig,
open the previously saved project,
expected result: MPE state still set too be active,
instead the result is: MPE state off!!!
Same happens in Logic...

If you want a new wavetable synth that's free, here it is. Modular and amazing.
This review features some main features, preset demos, and an example song made exclusively with multiple instances of Vital.

Sadly confirmed, quite easy to reproduce here: just set offline and bring back the plugin instance and MPE state is back to off... Vital version 1.0.3 VST3 + REAPER x64 on Windows 10 Pro.Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 1:22 pm Still does not remember its MPE state! Needs an urgent fix.
