It might take some time, but rest assured you will always be welcome to be part of the family again.

If you are in the UK be aware that Thomann.de prices do not include VAT or customs charges.
I made an order this morning, confirmation came through showing the price I paid with free shipping.
6 hours later I get an email saying that I'll need to pay a further 20% VAT plus customs charges.

But that's the same here in Germany when I buy from a shop/developer/company in the UK - in many cases 19 % VAT are added (at least in case of Plugin Boutique it is included). It's annoying but that's how it is...

I feel like there must be some good deals with this, anyone got anything good from it?Ou_Tis wrote: Fri Jan 01, 2021 3:57 pm Best Service "until midnight January 1st" voucher is still working (still being promoted on their website, and I tested in checkout).
I'm on the edge about the Cinesamples piano bundle for $115 but think I'll manage to resist since I already have some decent pianos and will eventually get Noire when I update Komplete next.

On the BestService.com -$20 deal. obviously it is beneficial to use the -$20 on items already an sale such as Blue Cat and PSP, Reason and so on. Not all the brands are listed but may be found using their search function. There are some $99 deals and 5X$20, $54 and $45 (or $49).Use Promo Code HNY2021

Not quite. This isn't that I have to pay VAT when I check out.Tricky-Loops wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:21 am But that's the same here in Germany when I buy from a shop/developer/company in the UK - in many cases 19 % VAT are added (at least in case of Plugin Boutique it is included). This is the order is checked out and paid. Then you are told you will need to pay VAT and customs after the item is delivered.

It's probably the same reason Softube and Rhythmic Robot (and maybe others) won't sell to UK customers until the necessary tax/paperwork/whatever is set up. Unlike Thomann who can sell you a physical product, they probably need to have everything set up at the checkout to sell you a software product that is delivered instantly.

yes I think you are right.
However Thomann really should indicate that VAT and customs will need to be paid. It's not on the website and it wasn't on the confirmation email. It was only over 6 hours later when I was out did the email come through saying I would need to pay these extra charges. So huge scramble this morning to stop the shipping of the order.
Right now I'm concerned about the Waldorf I bought from Digital Village. I bought it begining of December and assumed it would be shipped from their UK warehouse. It came from Germany and was faulty so it has been sent back. As the replacement will be coming from Germany I'm worried that once again I will be charged customs when it arrives.

I'm sure this must be the adjustment phase of the post-Brexit import/export changes. Everyone now has to figure it out and in the beginning there will be some confusion and oversights. I have ordered from Thomann many times and not once has something like this happened. And I doubt it will happen again after everything is sorted. Honestly, we're going to have to brace ourselves for some chaos to follow over the course of the next few weeks... I don't think it would be fair to blame Thomann.ChamomileShark wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 11:35 am However Thomann really should indicate that VAT and customs will need to be paid. I can blame Thomann for not being clear. They took the order at 11.48am. They told me about the extra charges as 6.13pm.
If you were really generous you might say that between those two times that someone said "hold up, we need to tell people about the VAT and customs". However, they still haven't made any changes to the website so they are still taking orders from the UK and not showing the true price or warning people about the extra charges. That's wrong.
