However, they still haven't made any changes to the website so they are still taking orders from the UK and not showing the true price or warning people about the extra charges. That's wrong.
I don't think it's "hold up, we need to tell people" it's like "wait, so how is this supposed to work now?". A mix of confusion and uncertainty, probably some technical challenges as well. The new law was literally implemented yesterday. This is not going to be Thomann-specific, but it's a challenge for any company selling in the UK, especially digitally.

Wasn't it discussed here in this thread that a lot of people from the UK weren't taxed anymore in online stores? So what, you're just not going to pay sales tax anymore? What's happening is beyond a mess, so there will be screw ups left and right. I think we need to cut some people some slack and give a chance to adapt. Especially since Brexit is in no way Thomann's fault.

But I give you that Thomann seem to be very slow with changing stuff. Like when they put up the wrong price for Generate a couple of weeks back and it took them several days to fix it.

Btw: I just logged in to Thomann with a VPN from Great Britain. The store recognized me being in England and shows me all prices and info accordingly. It reads "The prices shown exclude VAT."

To be lear I don't blame Thomann from changing the way they charge. What I am saying is that they needed to be clear that you will be asked to pay 30-40% more on reciept. Other companies have suspended sales to the UK or taken their shop down temporarily.

I assumed Thomann being a largish company had this all sorted.

I can now see "excludes VAT" on checkout, not sure that was there when I purchadsed. Not exactly obvious, it should also be on the product page and I can't see it there. It's a major change that you now pay VAT on reciept of goods.

Also no mention of customs charges. I know VAT is 20% but have no idea what the customs charges would be. It should have been made clear.

Anyway, I don't think it's clear and I posted here so that other UK people who might be buying hardware will be made aware. I used to buy all sorts of little bits and pieces from Thomann, I won't be doing that anymore it's not worth the customs lottery.

I've noticed big drop in prices on bax-shop.co.uk - as well,
Wondering if the customs will have to be paid..Vat is inc (it says) so why pay it again??..
Deepmind 12 is now £529 ( with 10% off code - that makes it 476 nice)
Well....if customs are to be paid then ...not so great but anyway ...big sales are there atmo..

btw. the company send goods from Netherlands to a hub in uk and then to a customer- so maybe the customs will be sorted by them. Unless changes are coming..would have to call them...

This is totally fair.

BTW when I was checking out "from the UK" it also showed shipping cost. So maybe they do have it figured out now...

I've seen someone else get confused by this already on FB, so you're certainly not alone.

I noticed a big drop on many hardware items from UK suppliers too. I paid something like £90 less for a Minitaur and Steinberg interface. I'd been checking prices all year, suddenly they went down.

I'll only buy hardware from UK suppliers now, even if I have to pay apparently a bit more.

Could you let me know what the 10% code is please, struggling to find one on their site? Thanks.

I'm in the UK so I'll be emailing them first to try and confirm the situation before ordering anything though..

I'm guessing the answer is no, but can't hurt to ask.
While I can't vouch for you I indeed received 2 fresh iLok assets for Nimbus and R4 few months back when I upgraded from MPS3.

Did you upgrade via izotope or a reseller?

I just had to look it up - I purchased at PluginBoutique and got 3 serials. One for MPS 4 and the other two for Nimbus and R4.

Wondering if the Best Service $20 off code "HNY2021" will work throughout the weekend. It did not expire on 1st Jan, so I believe it should. Any thoughts?

I need a little more time to decide on something...

Thanks, I bought the original MPS3 from jrrshop, as an upgrade from Nectar 3 (which was bought second-hand here). If someone else confirms, I'll probably get the upgrade - the deal is almost sweet enough with RX8 std. + Neoverb... Getting the exponential stuff back would push it over the top.
