Renoise 3.3 with VST3 support released!

Workflow seems more complicated, slow and painful to learn from how I remember using Octamed back in the 1990's. There is a Scottish guy who does proper video tutorials on Renoise, who would provide a better narrated example of what's going on in how it's done.

In other words, should I install vst3 `as well` as vst2 plugins from now on?

as I've checked the forum of Renoise, the plugin version of Reason and https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/ were the pain points both exist only VST3 format

Vst3 is apparently better than vst2 in many ways...lots of threads on this, but the main thing is quite a few new VSTs are now only coming out in VST 3 form as VST2 is discontinued and no longer supported.

Loading vst3’s is one advantage ,new companies can only distribute vst3 .
I personally don’t notice any difference besides the install path .
I only install vst3 if there is no other option available , both can co-exist together.
Do what you prefer to do

I bought them both.. separately. Renoise is a DAW, while Redux is a vst plugin (with less functions than Renoise). Either way, I love both.. and glad I got them. They`re amazing pieces of software..

If you could post a link to one of those tutorials, I'd really appreciate it. I have Renoise, but have no idea where to start with it.

Renoise is still one of the cooler DAWs out there. Very much built for computers with the old school tracker input, yet still integrated with more modern things like VSTs, and very accessible too considering you can get by just fine with ignoring a lot of the tracker commands.

The excellent, and dare I say best in the business, UI customization is just icing on the cake.

Nice to see a pulse of life with an update.

If you could post a link to one of those tutorials, I'd really appreciate it. I have Renoise, but have no idea where to start with it.

If you buy Renoise you get a discount on Redux (which is already cheap) so it’s a bit of a no brainier if you also use other DAWs (but not needed if you only use Renoise).
