Dragging plugin windows problem when CPU is over 50%

This is another of those niggles that over time is making me think about switching to other software. Clearly it makes sense for CPU to be optimised around audio usage and for the UI refresh to be a low priority, but even at around 50% CPU the lag of windows refresh means that the mouse pointer invariably detaches from the window header in the act of trying to move it (vertically, at least), which makes the simple task of moving a plugin a PITA. Shouldn't it work such that so long as the left mouse button is held down the window continues to be dragged despite the fact that the cursor and window are no longer perfectly synchronized (and therefore the mouse pointer doesn't stay directly above the window header)?

This is on Mac OS, Mojave btw.

I just tried switching to low detail UI mode. Actually visually is seems much the same, and the windows dragging seems entirely different: whilst the cursor very obviously displays outside/off the window whilst dragging this doesn't break the action, so this seems to be a fix. But nonetheless I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work in normal UI mode.
