MSuperLooper momentary dry FX sound passing when resetting

When there are many loops recorded, it takes some time for the "reset all" button to take effect. However, during that short time of resetting, it seems that MSuperLooper will pass through dry signal even if both dry FX signal levels are a 0%.

Yes, this is one of the operations, which takes so much time, that it cannot be guaranteed it would be done within a block, so you'd get overloads. Therefore it is temporarily bypassed.

can we at least not do that? and leave the plugin silent instead of passing through the sound?

Sorry, this feature is available everywhere and I'm pretty sure in 99% cases it's better the way it is. We could potentially make an option, but there are so many options already...

Just use an effects send buss that isn't audible on the stereo master buss.

i'm not quite sure i follow. wouldn't that make looper itself inaudible?

You only need to hear the output of the looper, you're already monitoring the input of whatever you're recording. Then putting the looper return back on the stereo buss allows you to hear it properly.
The send gets there but isn't audible until it returns from the looper.

Did that make any sense?

this won't help in my case.

my bass looping is already set up that way, but this is a no-go for guitars because i need rhythm as well as soloing, so i need to hear both the signal and the loop. for now, i'll be getting around the problem by resetting the looper at the beginning of a new track, rather than at the end.

I wonder, how exactly are you doing what you are doing? I mean when you are reseting something, I assume you are not live, or are you??

i am live, that's the problem :) Enso has no problem with clearing its buffers while playing live, so i was used to being able to do that.

EDIT: when i say "has no problem", i mean it doesn't pass audio it isn't supposed to pass, unlike MSuperLooper. of course it freezes momentarily, but for my use case that's OK, as long as it doesn't make any sounds i didn't expect.

Hmmm, I still don't know how that happens in practice :). But I'll add some switch to todo list.

thanks! i'm not really suggesting to add a switch, merely to respect the dry levels. i can live without the rest of the audio engine being active.

Aaaha, well, the thing is, it needs to work entirely or not at all, so.. Yeah a switch will have to do the trick. Or you can just adjust the level before the plugin instead of using the input gain.
