It's nice. I like it for its clear interface, and simplicity.

I detest eLicenser though, so, I decided for myself that I won't buy any products anymore which use it. Just my opinion, ofc. If Steinberg dropped it, I'd immediately consider ALL of their products again. Fingers crossed.
Padshop 2 £55 in the sale. I already have eLicenser for Wavelab Elements. What's your gripe with eLicenser?

Post

The dongle. :P

And, yes, you also can use soft eLicenser, but then you're restricted to running the plugin on a single computer. And the moment you transfer the license to the dongle, you can never transfer it back.

If you don't have an issue with that, fair enough. Just saying that I dislike it. That's why I got rid of all my eLicenser software. Don't even own Wavelab Elements anymore. The moment Steinberg drops eLicenser, their software will immediately become interesting for me again. I hope that'll be the case at some point, because I do like their software.

Seriously, even iLok is better than eLicenser. At least you can transfer your iLok licenses easily from the dongle to soft iLok and vice versa.

Ok thanks for explanation. The only thing i noticed about eLicenser is sometimes it needs updating after Windows update.
Actually i bought 2 licenses of Wavelab Elements because i use 2 computers.

I just ordered ilok dongle today actually, it suits my needs better i think.

Also i think i don't really need Padshop because it looks a bit similar of Bitwig's sampler and i've hardly got my hands dirty with Bitwig's sampler yet.

Padshop 2 is one of the best granular synths.

Of course Padshop 2 is different than Bitwig sampler, because of course Bitwig sampler isn't a synth! :dog:

Post

Although Padshop's "synthesizer" does sound (in words) awfully a lot like Bitwig's sampler!

"Awesome second synth engine
We’ve doubled the power of Padshop with a second great sound-generating engine; the Spectral Oscillator. Play any sample at any speed, at any position, in either direction and at any pitch. "

Somebody point out the differences, if you want to!

yeah, it was a statement, not a reply to you... rain your ego in mate!

So you think Bitwig Sampler can handle granular synthesis as well as Padshop... Ok then :help:

I didn't say you had replied to me. I just replied to you in reference to what i wanted to say. & i wasn't being sarcastic either, i agreed to you what you said.

Actually i haven't tried Padshop. I'm interested about Padshop. I just noticed that Padshop looks to have similar features to Bitwig sampler which i'm sure you're aware has granular capabilities.

I'm sorry that quoting you put an alert to you, and i didn't really require your reply! :dog:

No worries, my bad for misunderstanding.

Padshop is really good, I have a number of granular synths and use it a lot.

(you often see cheap unregistered serials in the for sale area, i believe it comes bundled with some hardware)

Cheers. Good to know. Tho i've decided not to get Padshop in this sale. My computer is probably not really upto Padshop.

what like Waldorf PPG Wave 3 low? (i was amazed when i opened the tenth instance of it and it still was hardly touching my cpu on this (rubbish) computer.) I expected CPU would be high because it's granular. I can't see a demo on the Steinberg Padshop page.

Just checked for you, in Live 10 it was registering 1-2% more cpu than PPG Wave 3.

And you'd better not change your firewall or antivirus, since soft-eLicenser is tied to your network adapter, and any software that changes your network routing will invalidate your seL.
