Since the clock is running down for the sale, I'd say go with Diva simply because it's the more straight forward of the two. For a many synth styles workhorse, Zebra is more streamlined than other similar synths, with a great workflow but it has some funny quirks and the oscillators in particular require some head scratching and practice to get good results with, imo.

That being said, if you have time you should give Hive a go too, it covers way more ground than Diva with wavetables at your disposal on top of the usual analog style waveforms, but it is much more simple to use compared to Zebra. It has a typical subtractive synth layout/workflow but with a few tricks up it's sleeve to make more interesting, experimental sounds for dance music. Your ears will have to judge how good it sounds compared to Diva and whether it's more important to have a "better" analog character in Diva vs more sonic possibilities with Hive.

You might also consider getting Zebra and the Dark Zebra now, this way you get access to everything that Zebra has to offer in terms of possibilities with the addition of Diva's tasty filters via ZebraHZ. You'll also get a free upgade to Zebra 3 when that gets released, which is AFAIK will include the same or extended versions of features implemented in Hive like the wavetable engine and Shape Sequencer.
Although Diva has the sound I like (Anything Moog bass rules...), I'm a little more into Hive right now. As you state Hive (the presets...) sounds more suitable for dance music. Zebra is a bridge too far for my current experience. If I had the money, I would buy Diva and Hive. But still have to choose one. Just a few hours left ;-)

That was a bit .. am... cynic.?

But however - when I think of that name I remember the earth shaking and no Diva singing ;-)

Go 4 Diva 😁

Hi all, thanks for your help. Based on your advice and the demo's, I finally went for Hive 2. (Yeah @zvenx, you were right ;-)). I'm very happy with it, but already know that I'll buy Diva when it'll be in a sale in the future. But first I'm going to enjoy programming Hive...

Now I know what you mean :-) But.... Richie is using a lot of 303/808/909 and modular stuff. Does a modular synth produce no synth sound, according to you?

I don't mind. I expect I have to learn a lot about synthesis which will take a lot of time. And I think Hive will do for most things I want to do, so I don't need Diva right now.

I bought Diva for myself, on your behalf :D
