I just re-read a lot of this thread, very amazed!

FIFYAfter Half Life 3 and maybe a year in-between.
so apparently no 2021 release then, a bit disappointing but good to know nevertheless

Oh! Is there any info about Hive 2.1 here? EDIT: Nevermind, found it!

Please note that we only just agreed to this with Amazona a few weeks ago in order to develop a concept on how to continue support for Tyrell N6. That concept will be spoken about and developed over the course of a year or two (while we do other things), and then we'll figure out what's viable and what we do.

Only thing I want ( probably said it before ) it's va osc's capable of x-mod, fm ,pulse width , real osc sync ( master -slave ) like a traditional synth etc..not relying on the osc. effects .

You must not be very familiar with Zebra2. All of those modules - Cross-Mod, Sync, Pulse-Width Modulation, FM, Ring, Comb Filter and much more like Wavetable synthesis and MSEGs - are already in the synth already. It's never been a synth overly-reliant on effects, unless your patch creation wants to begentleclockdivider wrote: Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:35 pm Only thing I want ( probably said it before ) it's va osc's capable of x-mod, fm ,pulse width , real osc sync ( master -slave ) like a traditional synth etc..not relying on the osc. effects .
One thing I am a bit curious about though is if the ZebraHZ additions -- the Resonators, polyphonic compressors and so-on -- will make their way into Zebra3 since they were included mostly to fulfill Hans Zimmer's wishes. I can only imagine he'll be a big a fan of Zebra3 too and would want them brought over or there may be a Zebra3HZ

I am verry familiar with zebra ( part of the beta team ) .Shiek927 wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 12:03 amYou must not be very familiar with Zebra2. I can imagine they'll all make their way into Zebra3, albeit with higher-quality analog-modeling and perhaps streamlined in their usage (I recall Urs saying he wants to combine the filters and XMF into one).

You on the other don't seem to understand certain things I outlined , let me recapitulate
-Osc sync in zebra is internal , meaning the oscillator is it's own Sync-master , which means the osc can not be slaved to another osc
Real master-slave sync , combined with amplitude modulation opens the door to windowed sync and formant style effects , the master acts as a windowing/enveloping function and provides the basic pitch , the sync slave 's pitch = formants
-Pulse width in zebra when using the wavetable is dependent on the osc resolution which is NOT updated at audio rate (even at fastest setting )
Yes I am aware that saw + pwm button enabled does regular pulse width
-You can't cross mod osc's in zebra ,cross mod is roland talk for frequency modulation ( not pahse modulation )
The only audio rate connection between osc's is either ringmod , or fmo ( which also does ringmod ) , but you can't modulate the frequency of osc1 with osc'2 , simple as that
The comb filter has nothing to do with this , it's a tuned delay line that's either excited by an internal or external source
Zebra is fantastic in it's own way ,adding these features would make it even better

Ahh, I understand. Thank you for clarifying further! I do like all of your suggestions! these are all good ideas and I'm definitely up for the ability to do more sync or formant-style effects, especially for bass genresgentleclockdivider wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 12:18 amI am verry familiar with zebra ( part of the beta team ) .Shiek927 wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 12:03 amYou must not be very familiar with Zebra2. I would love to have cross-OSC RM and sync, plus both at once(!!), too. Totally agree with gentleclockdivider here. I don't imagine that RM is such a deal in programming? But I understand that SYNC might breakup your current thought programmers structure.
Though cross-OSC sync and rm of course is way more powerful, since you have a lot more combinations to try. The other in-osc-sync could stay, of course.
A "join" module simply, with options sync, rm, sync+rm, mix (with panning per input). That would be very nice. Of course the sync mode would have to communicate back to the osc modules, so creating a feedback, which might be ugly. so in reality, all osc modules would have to communicate in parallel way all the time, and also looking for a "i am on sync" parameter.
I am pretty sure it is possible while keeping the current structure in tact.
Surely this might not convince you, Urs, but please throw an ear on those 90-06's digital syncs which had sync, and sync-rm. I totally love that, since it is not that single one sync sound which you will get when using in-osc-sync. You can also create a lot of (good) dirt. Loved the sync+rm sound of the Korg Radias. Never ever have seen this possibility again in a software synth.
Then I lately used the comb filter in Zebra 2, which is already nice. But how it is this planned in Zebra3? I would love to see the comb filter working in a polyphonic mode, too! Also it seems to me that the feedback is very quickly added, the Renoise comb module seems to be capable of being added why more subtle and less feedbacking (could be my inability only to use the zebra comb module properly).

I really hope the polyphonic compressors make it into Zebra3. To me, they are the reason why getting ZebraHZ over Zebra is a no-brainer. As for the Resonators, I think I remember Urs mentioning it somewhere in this thread that they will be part of Zebra 3... (So hopefully they will be in the new version of Zebrify, too!)Shiek927 wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 12:03 am One thing I am a bit curious about though is if the ZebraHZ additions -- the Resonators, polyphonic compressors and so-on -- will make their way into Zebra3 since they were included mostly to fulfill Hans Zimmer's wishes. my thoughts exactly (although, instead of a Zebrify3 we might rather add inputs to the synth)flechtwerk wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:16 amI really hope the polyphonic compressors make it into Zebra3.
