Nowadays you should really check out a multiband-transient shaper, its way more flexible. There are several on the market, some even linked here already. I prefer using the one from izotope neutron.

Quite like the sound of this too, you don't get the annoying clicky sound when you enhance the transient like on a lot of the others

It's expensive. I watched a few videos, and it is nifty. Just to be clear, it is not multiband, right--just you can adjust the range or one band, but it can work on up to three channels (not sure I'd need that).

I use Voxengo TransGainer and Softube Transient Shaper the most.
Honorable mention: iZotope Neutron3 transient shaper. Great, but i don't want whole neutron just for transients.
