If you got MTurboCompLE at PluginBoutique for free last month, they still give you a 35€ discount on the upgrades. How does that fit into the narrative?ScrLk wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 1:14 pmThat's not what they do. They don't base the upgrade price on which plugins you own, but on their estimate of how much money they got from you. If you got it from a reseller, they feel like they missed out on money and therefore will charge you more.DarkStar wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 12:29 pmIn my view, MeldaProduction is not trying to make back the money missed out on. Rather, the upgrade discounts are applied to the current price of the bundles.
I don't understand the upgrade prices

HI guys,
I think their pricing policy is one of the fairest I know of. I gradually acquired MTotalFXBundle by starting with the MEssentialsFXBundle , then purchasing a couple of more "expensive" ones, and next thing you know the upgrade to MTotalFXBundle was an affordable option. I bought just about all of them benefiting from the 50% discounts, and at no stage did feel I was getting shafted in the process. It is my view that Melda's pricing policy enabled me to progressively increase my Melda "portfolio", keeping the benefits of the 50 % discounted purchases through the next Bundle upgrade, something I've found a lot of companies don't do. Admittedly, I made these purchases a few years ago, when the prices were a bit cheaper.
Cheers Al.

oh nooo, someone dislikes the upgrade strategy based on their experiences. it's our duty as a community to now express how it is the fairest and most pleasant one ever being made XD nothing is better, only think in superlatives

I get that the system doesn't disadvantage every customer, but that's kind of the issue, it targets you personally for having gotten the products "the wrong way" (in a way where Melda considers they lost out on money).
And I chose to take my business elsewhere.MeldaProduction wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2020 9:53 pmWorld isn't a fair place, someone always get worse treatment, that's just how it is. You can dislike the upgrade strategy all you want just like others can like it all they want. Let's just be objective and talk about how things actually are instead of wildly misrepresenting it by cherry picking information.
But I'm sure you don't have a favorite company or plugin because you don't want to think in superlatives. All companies are equally good, even if they turn off their activation servers after a few years destroying plugins worth hundreds of dollars even though they promised to provide a permanent activation in their EULA at the time.
P.s. I would still like to know what's going on with mladi, but he's refusing to offer any further information. Did he get the plugins for free when they were first introduced? Did he buy them second hand? What's going on here?

i have. but i neither have the urge to defend anything and everything these companies do, i don't get upset only because someone else made bad experiences that i didn't and i'm not calling others liars. but hey meldaism - it's always the best of the best, the most advanced, the super fairest and what not else. now continue naggingHeld wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:22 pm But I'm sure you don't have a favorite company or plugin because you don't want to think in superlatives. We're not talking about prices, just upgrade strategies. But nice try.chk071 wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:55 pm An objective discussion about prices? Bit of a stretch, isn't it?![]()
But you have the urge to criticize other companies? Maybe get your priorities straight. What's the point of creating a post in a public forum if you don't want to hear people's opinions? Of course people who frequent the official Melda forum will like the company due to positive experiences. What do you expect? If you just want to get smoke blown up your ass go to MeldaHaters.com.frizzbee wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:52 pm i have. but i neither have the urge to defend anything and everything these companies do, i don't get upset only because someone else made bad experiences that i didn't and i'm not calling others liars. but hey meldaism - it's always the best of the best, the most advanced, the super fairest and what not else. now continue nagging![]()
And no one here is defending everything Melda does. Just correcting exceptionally bad experiences presented as fact when really only due to incompetence and stupidity (at least that's what I assume since mladi is still not forth coming and starts to sound like a broken record).
But kudos for the trolls here, really. This was a fun, albeit pointless conversation

the topic was pretty clear and with pretty clear answers from either side, even melda. so of course no one, especially not you, is defending everything, except when you do

..and you will not find any other dev whith that mindset (for good reason).ScrLk wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 11:26 am The idea that the developer is trying to track how much you spent, then tries to make you pay back the money they missed out on as if you owe them... I'm not comfortable with that mindset. I don't know of any other developer who does that.

If you bought the product at 50% off (which I would recommend since sales are so frequent), there's absolutely no disadvantage to buying elsewhere. If you bought it for more than 50% off like in an introductory sale, there's even a benefit to buying somewhere else since Melda will assume you bought at 50% off.ScrLk wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:01 pm I get that the system doesn't disadvantage every customer, but that's kind of the issue, it targets you personally for having gotten the products "the wrong way" (in a way where Melda considers they lost out on money).
The world isn't fair. If you buy a plugin right before a 90% sale from another company, You're also got screwed. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Of course you can complain, but what's the point. Imagine paying $200 dollars at plugin alliance a few days before a $29 dollars sale. If that happened with Melda, they'd at least let you use that money to upgrade to a bundle.
But please don't see this post as me trying to convince you to buy Melda plugins or as a statement that Melda is perfect. Do whatever you want. I don't benefit from their sales. I'm just bored and thought I'd let you know that you get targeted everywhere for buying the "wrong way".
I mean I bought MSF in the Black friday sale last year, and if I had waited a few weeks for the Christmas sale, I would have saved 50€ more. I wasn't happy about it, but I also didn't go on an angry rant in the forums. What would have been the point. Name one company that would have reimbursed the difference. Seriously, I'm always looking for companies that treat their customers well.
If you go to an all-you-can-eat buffet and eat only a small portion, you also got targeted personally for eating the wrong way. Life is full of hidden traps, and sometimes you get screwed. I also have a few plugins I regret because I got targeted personally with misleading advertising.
So yeah, life's not fair. Do whatever you want with that.
