Sending Program Changes to VST

I'm not sure this is the right place to post.

I have an audio Vst (Neural DSP guitar amp modelling). The VST uses Program Changes to pick a preset. I am using a Behringer FCB1010. I've made buttons on the controller program messages. In the VST have assigned those PC's to certain presets. It doesn't seem to be working.

I've tested the controller, by changing some of the buttons to midi note values and having them turned devices on and off by mapping them to midi, so I know I am getting communication with the daw.

Should bitwig be able to apply incoming program changes and apply those to the VST?

Probably not the right place for this question... this is controller scripting. but be sure to check that the midi input is on for the track. Also that the controller script you have loaded and receiving the midi supports program change... but this makes me question whether or not program change is ignored for midi input.
