here's an odd feature request maybe - is there any way to make fx send be a per voice parameter so you can do things like only send certain notes in a sequence to the delay or send a pad to reverb based on polyAT?

Even though that is a purely digital synth, it sounds so full and these liquidy-sounds are so incredibly life-like. When he speeds up the LFO, it starts to sound like a waterfall. It's insane how full and analog it sounds like.
Waldorf Q is the warmer VA synth released of all the time ... :tu:

This is already the case in Zebra2... Modulation of the send parameter is per voice 8)

dang, I just saw the sends down in the FX grid and assumed (you know what they say about assuming) it was post voice sum. Well, consider that an easy FR to fulfill then

I have only one feature request: sound better than Virus lol :D

Haha, that's gonna be majorly subjective, but one thing is for sure: it will be a flagship synth for another decade+ with dedicated support which is always the best thing you can ask for :).

No it doesn't :troll:

Well, maybe it does for some, but I happen to like the sound of Virus more than Zebra.

For me synths that come close to Virus, or maybe are even better in some aspects, are Spire, Massive X, Hive2, Viper (I don't count Repro, Diva or Bazille cause these are entirely different concepts, but they sound great as well on their own).

Well, for what I know Zerba was never intended to sound like Virus, I remember Urs said he never used Virus as a reference for any of his synths.

Yet it still sounds better than it and can do sounds Virus can only dream about :)

Okay, lets' agree to disagree, it's highly subjective. I have both so I know what they both sound like.

Zebra is a fine synth I started using it again lately but Virus was like the first true love for me.

Won't argue with that it's more versatile.

Now that I’ve explored Hive a bit, I must say I’m very excited by the possibilities the new mod matrix and modulator triggering will open up in Z3 :) not to mention all the other goodies of course!

If anything, the Zebra vs Virus discussion makes me slightly hope that Z3 will have more character in some way. Synths like Diva and Virus are absolutely bursting with it: you can tell very quickly when they are being used, especially Virus with those hypersaws and that distinctive phaser of it's. But Zebra has always felt more 'neutral' without as much of a unique signature sound. Maybe it's deliberate so you can create whatever patch you want, but I think it would only be to it's benefit that it has more so that, like it or not, you know it when you hear it and it's not just 'another synth'.

Alot of my favorite synths have that 'je ne se quoi' to them that sets them apart. It's like they have their own 'color'. The Novation Supernova is mega-fat, the WaldorfQ is 'hard' and bright, the Korg Triton has some unbelievably warm pads and choirs ("God's Bathtub" :phones: ), the Roland JD990 is deliciously warm in a digital way..softsynths aren't exempt from this: NI Massive certainly had a distinctive sound that was easy to pick up, especially with it being used as extensively as it was for a very long time.

At the moment, when I think of Z2, the first thing that pops into my head is Hans Zimmer hahaha. I know you can get extremely organic results for sure, but It's harder to immediately hear a synth track and go "Oh! that's Zebra!". I know 'character' is something hard to quantify haha, but I think this might be something to look into to really set Zebra3 apart from the crowd so that, like it or not, people know it when they hear it.

Dunno man, I have a bunch of soundbanks for Zebra, and they all have different characters, and not a lot of them scream distinctively "I'm done with Zebra"... There's plenty of tools in it to give it your own character.
