Hope it's not abandoned.
Paid 125 $ some months ago for it.
Seems there's not too much development going on at 2CAudio.

The most I hear about 2CAudio is seasonal emails about seasonal sales these days. They briefly popped in here nearly a year ago and suggested once again that they'd blow our minds any time now. I'm very disappointed in how they've maintained Kaleidoscope, and particularly in how they've communicated with us about it. I'm not going to believe that anyone's working on this software until I see some updates -- there have just been too many promises and intimations made at this point without anything to show for them. It's too bad, it is a great idea that's been left to rot on the vine.martinjuenke wrote: Tue Jan 05, 2021 5:28 pm Hope it's not abandoned.

Hope springs eternal, of course, and I would be thrilled to be forced to eat my hat.

Thanks for verifying, so I assume the Logic update broke the save paths in Kaleidoscope, or it's a security issue of some sort introduced with Catalina. Andrew, are you reading this at all?Cinebient wrote: Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:55 pm Sadly same here Logic 10.6.1, Big Sur on an M1 machine. Cannot save to folder and neither to my preset, cannot save at all any preset. Not good.

I'm still on Mojave… I suppose that the other 2CAudio products do not have this problem on Catalina and Big Sur, right?

I just tested and can confirm that Breeze 2, B2, Aether and Precedence all have the same problem here.
So the only way to save a preset is then via a Logic patch for me.

Oh… that's very worrying, especially because it's the first time I am hearing that and Catalina and Big Sur have already been around for a while. I am very, very fond of their software (especially Aether, in my case) and I confess I was saving my money in order to buy new versions, hopefully in this period of the year, but nothing happened (I really, really hope that this is just a delay).Cinebient wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 4:10 am I just tested and can confirm that Breeze 2, B2, Aether and Precedence all have the same problem here.

Saving AU presets for now is an alternative, or use a DAW which runs plug-ins in the vst format as this problem only seems to affect the au versions.Cinebient wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 4:10 am I just tested and can confirm that Breeze 2, B2, Aether and Precedence all have the same problem here.

Nope, not that I saw/see.Dirtgrain wrote: Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:59 pm I bought B2 several weeks ago, and their support was responsive. Has anyone put in a ticket?
Sorry if I am slow to see the thread here, but we don't check forum threads everyday. We do of course check email support every day.
We have looked into it though, and indeed there seems to be issue with saving user presets in Catalina. We are exploring it. Believe it or not, it was not brought to our attention until very recently.
Aether and B2 both have "HD" versions of the GUI since 2012 or so. Just load one of the "HD" skins and reload the plug. Should work great on HIDPI screens. Future versions will use the many-size option scheme that is found in Precedence, Breeze 2, and Vector.Ploki wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 2:53 pm I really like 2C plugins, but lack of hidpi support on aether/b2
We are exploring it. Obviously it is something that must be done and it is something that will be done. No exact ETA just yet. We are heavily optimized for AVX etc on x86 so obtaining similar performance is likely not as simple as the marketing may make it seem. Nonetheless we realize it must be done.
Re Kaleidoscope timelines/updates etc. I hear you and I sympathize/empathize. I had wanted an update in 2017, and again in 2020. I think The Rolling Stones has a song about this. I hate that damn song.

Its also on Big Sur and my M1 machine has especially trouble with your GUI when using Logic in native version (where single plug-ins gets translated). Of course I know its not supported officially but maybe you have an idea.Andrew Souter wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:47 pmNope, not that I saw/see.Dirtgrain wrote: Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:59 pm I bought B2 several weeks ago, and their support was responsive. Also there is still this mess in the preset browser now since years.
The only good thing I can say is that these little M1 has no trouble to run several Kaleidoscope instances with some B2 on top. Funny it performs much better there as on my older i7 quad core with 8 threads.
I wonder if you plan also native ARM support in the future (well, it seems you consider it).
I am a huge 2CAudio fan as I own nearly all your tools but it begins to struggle a bit with a smooth workflow and I see no changes here.

should've been more specific, meant retina support. HD skin just looks huge and blocky.
I need HD skin scaled down 50% so it's the same absolute size but sharp.
+ 1 on preset browser order bug on mac. that one is OOOLD.
