If you already got a stock filter with basic slopes and drive on then that's all you need.
I got the soundtoys filter freak and has modulation capabilities as does volcano but the sound is very similar to my stock ableton, the only major difference is the resonance squeals a bit more and this is supposed to be one of the best on the market. It's basically the same shit. How often will you need to modulate like crazy in volcano or something like that? Not very. And if you do, it's easier in your daw.
In short, save ya money!
The age of simple 90's bi-quad filters is long past us , but if you can't hear the difference that's good for you![]()
