Well in that spirit here's the Royal Skin edit. Once again all credit goes to whoever originally created the skin. All I did was change a few colors. :tu:

That'd be Voger Design.

I'm really glad skin engine is gaining traction :)

OK, I did a fresh install and another scan. Now I get both VST3 and AU. And the VST3 version works in Mixbus as expected. Who-hoo.

I messily mixed installs from your download and from brew. Could it be that one of the methods only installs the AU?

I have another fresh mac, I'll try it over there and report back. Thanks for your help.
Great news

Brew should install both. I just did a `brew install --cask surge-synthesizer` on my machine after blowing away surge vst3 and got a vst3 installed.

I'll add an issue to remind myself to chase the ardour devs if we keep the au strategy we have in 19.

I just fixed couple of other irritants mentioned here (1: The lato warning happens every time not just once; 2: dropping onto window switches you to WT and 3: overpaint of the oscillator in the royal skin). I'll merge those today so the nightly should have them.

My guess is we do a super-tiny workflow and bug fix 1.8.1 mid next week with small fixes like this as well as some updated and expanded content we missed in the march to 1.8.0.

The mixbux and linux mouse one are on my list. I'm not entirely sure what the linux mouse problem is still and it works as I expect in my VM, but oddy and i are chatting to figure it out.
Great. 8) If I modulate a temposynced LFO rate with for instance velocity and hold CTRL I get 200% as expected, then the values skip to 360 and 440 and on to 520% before hitting a value that makes sense to me with 600%. Any reason it doesn't stop by values like 300%, 400% and 500% as I'd imagine? And if I try to enter a value manually for modulation of temposynced LFO rate it always shoots straight to the roof and goes for 4000% (?) just about no matter which value I enter. I just had an idea as I was typing this: It seems if I type in 20 instead of 200 it works. Typing 30 will give me 300% etc.

So glad to see one of my favourite synths now being open source!

I was contacted about a year ago (but have been inactive here on kvr) by @esaruoho asking for permission to include my preset pack in the open source version. I have replied that it is of course ok but received no response, so maybe it's better I give the permission here where someone might read it?

Anyways, if you are to give credit my name is now Stefan Singer (it was Stefan Hållén back when I made the presets). Please go ahead and include the patches regardless of if credit is given or not, they might be useful to someone, who knows? :)

Thanks for your permission! Where can your patches be downloaded from? (Or just zip them up and send me a private message!)

We could include them in upcoming 1.8.1 update next week if we're quick enough :)

OK great! zvenx sent them to me. All systems go :)

Man, I wish we could include Bronto Scorpio's patches, but he seems MIA, right?

Post

Looking forward to hearing them again, been a few years :D

Unfortunately I don't think I ever had any contact with Bronto. Maybe reach out to Claes?

Cool we will look before we ship 1.8.1 and either come up with (1) an explanation of what is happening (2) a fix or (3) an apology for why we can’t fix it in a point release :)

So the explanation here is "we forgot to write the code". Like - just didn't have any code inside the ifs or were ignoring temposync state.

I banged it together this morning and the correct version with proper displays and quantization will be in 1.8.1

Ha. Thanks for the report.
