jerry and co.
overture.
cinematic, is what it says it is!
when will it be my turn.
character voice suits the big dreamer! ready to be suckered
it's all or nothing
more big dreams
had me thinking of mercury rev
you gotta be unique.
seems to be a different view at play, someone with plans more than dreams?
a piece of the action
im going to ignore the vocaloid, i get it's essential here
can't tell if she's out to help jerry yet, or use him...
keep the story interesting!
whatever it takes
damn! this is a track by "white noise"
at least it took me right to that album
he doesn't even know im alive.
poor girl.
a few iffy lyrics, but maybe that's a normal thing in a musical, webber has released some dross
mr businessman
don't like the sound of this guy? seems to good to be true
on to new york.
the journey! bringing us a return to the overture as a mid point! clever!
an honest face.
never trust a man who tells you he has an honest face! especially if his theme tune sounds like he's creeping up on you with the piano line rhythm!
someone like me.
she will get him if she waits!
he just has to follow his dreams for now.
he will realise where happiness really comes from
more than one way to skin a cat.
very few reasons to do so though.
these two sound nasty
you can't con a con.
overconfident in not being conned
this could be trouble!
let us entertain you.
the chorus line!
it had to be done.
sounds like remorse.
it was you all along.
yay! see! i knew if she waited he'd stop being a fool.
now enjoy true happiness, not the empty vessel of fame and fortune, but true love
finale.
i got through it in less than 10 years!!!
final thoughts, it didn't take long. as in it hasn't dragged, in fact has gone quicker than the actual time. so that's a plus!
some lyrics were a bit forced in my opinion, but as i said up there, you're in good company with that
musically im impressed, you didn't go overboard, kept it fairly simple, gives it hummability
nice mixes too, nothing jumped out anywhere.
good work

Thanks Vurt. Honestly, I never expected you (or anybody for that matter) to listen to the whole thing, and certainly not in one sitting. I'm genuinely impressed.vurt wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 7:17 pm jerry and co.

It seems, overall, that you liked it.
One can't ask for more than that.
Thanks again. I really did appreciate this.
No more musicals for a VERY long time.

yes overall i enjoyed it.
few stand out tracks, particularly the two i mentioned bands.
i know you know mercury rev, but if you don't know white noise, you need to!
classic album from the 60s
well, if you think about it, it's no different than someone sitting through one of my longer pieces, but with more variation here

wagtunes,
Thank you for the reviews! Now your song. Curious if you also did all of the intro talking vocals (I'm certain you did at least half of them). Some of your better singing vocals (good!). I still detect a slight theatrical element, and I am good with that. This reminds me of ELO a bit (a compliment). If the guitars are not 100% real, they still sound real to me. All of the melodies are very good, even with the slight edginess. The lyrics have some humor even though they cover a biblical topic. I can appreciate that. I think this is one of your better rock songs. Nice audio quality all around. Very good!

wagtunes,
Now reviewing "Finale Jerry & Company": Vocaloid vocals working fine for me. I don't recall hearing the vocoder-like male vocal before. It sounds like a theatrical finale because it is, which is appropriate. Nice melodies. Some humor in the lyrics. I liked it too!

2nd track from my upcoming CD "Time Travelers II"
Lyrics:
Jesus On The Cross
I see Jesus on the cross
Dying for my sins
I see Jesus on the cross
This is how it begins
The only chance we have to be saved
From a life of sin so depraved
I see Jesus on the cross
Sheds a tear for me
I see Jesus on the cross
So that our souls are free
The only chance for eternal life
An existence that is free from strife
We don't deserve the sacrifice he made
When every last card we had's been played
So on that cross his life he laid
For all of us
I see Jesus on the cross
And I walk away
I see Jesus on the cross
It's just another day
We go on like it matters not
Just remember down in hell it's hot
This is the only chance we've got

3rd track from my upcoming CD "Time Travelers II"
Lyrics:
Vesuvius
It was 79 AD
Nobody saw it coming
But then the damn thing blew
And people they went running
Vesuvius
Queen of seduction
Vesuvius
Queen of destruction
Pliny was there when it came
His uncle had died that day
He recorded the whole event
But didn't have much to say
Repeat Chorus
Nobody knows the next time she will erupt
Nobody knows how many will die
All we can do is kneel and pray
And give a collective sigh
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus
Outro

4th track from my upcoming CD "Time Travelers II"
Lyrics:
Muhammad
Muhammad
Muhammad
Born in five seventy
Founder of Islam
Was the final prophet of God
It goes on and on
He proclaimed God is one
And his message had begun
Muhammad
Muhammad
At the start followers were few
It had to give one pause
But then in six twenty nine
10,000 joined in the cause
Then they marched off to war
To Islam they opened the door
Muhammad
Muhammad
Instrumental Break
In 632 he died
And thousands they had cried
Muhammad
Muhammad

5th track from my upcoming CD "Time Travelers II"
Lyrics:
Constantinople
It was the Arab siege of 674
It really was one bloody war
Arab fleets formed a blockade
And many men with their lives they paid
Constantinople
They never had a chance
Constantinople
It was one deadly dance
But the Byzantines they didn't give up
They destroyed the Arab navy sure enough
A peace treaty signed soon after the fact
It didn't happen because they used tact
Constantinople
Managed to survive
Constantinople
They remained alive
Instrumental Break
