Waveform-12 suggestion.

Merry Christmas to the Devs and all you guys on the firm too.
Quick suggestion from me for the next big release.
As we all know, all efforts are being concentrated on Bug fixing and GUI clean-up, but I think to encourage new users to consider investing in Waveform-12, there should be at least 1 new exciting feature.
In my opinion adding the F'em synth as a factory instrument would do just that.
What ideas if you don't agree with mine would you think are needed???
Thanks guys.

Ideas worth thinking about. W12 will appear in 2022. We'll get 11.5 next.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Yeah I guess a point release does work.
I'm just worried that without some new feature, new users will opt for other DAWs, but stability is also very important.
I noticed that a lot of bugs are being fixed, but a few maybe obscure ones that I have submitted are still ongoing.
No disrespect to the Devs, they take all my requests very seriously, but some are important and I will bump those .

I'd think Waveform's biggest will be upgrades from its free version. In the past couple releases, I've seen a few new flashy features each time. Maybe half of them feel fully integrated to me. IMO it makes a lot of sense to tighten the current features up and make the DAW feel more cohesive.
Linux version?

It may be my frustration talking right now but no amount of new feature will compensate for the current lack of stability and functional defects...

That's what we are focusing on right now, we aren't working on W12. If you haven't already, please post your frustrations in one of the beta threads.mpoirier wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 4:09 pm It may be my frustration talking right now but no amount of new feature will compensate for the current lack of stability and functional defects...

Just wondering whether any passing Dev might drop a few hints about 11.5. Is Hyperion included?
Thanks

11.5 is pretty much what you've been seeing in the 11.2 betas. Once we get it to a point where it's stable, we will bump the number to 11.5 and do a public release. It's mostly bug fixes and workflow improvements.jabe wrote: Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:57 am Just wondering whether any passing Dev might drop a few hints about 11.5. Is Hyperion included?
Hyperion is not included. It is not a Tracktion product, but rather something we are distributing under the Tracktion Presents program.

Cool, the welcome screen with the audio settings front and center is a nice touch.
Ripple deleting look interesting, I think I can do this with a few key commands, but it'll be fun to check out. I wish you would have shown what happens when you select it in the video, is it gonna delete the highlighted portion? And how do you highlight a portion? lol. Or is it clip based, or i/o marker based?

Yes, ripple delete has been there for a while, but you had to remember the keyboard shortcut.Kang wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 4:46 am Ripple deleting look interesting, I think I can do this with a few key commands, but it'll be fun to check out. We've changed the default mouse drag action, now it can either be select clips or range select.
If you have it set to range select, then you can right click the selected area and either: ripple delete, splitheal, consolidate, reverse, silence.

Let's see if I have been dumb.
On W11 free, I haven't found how to ghost the midi in tracks A, B, ... in track Z. (Z shows midi Z + ghost of midi A, B, ...).
I would suggest this for W12, if this possibility does not allready exist in W11.

I don't record any instruments live, I construct my music.

I'm probably going to say something unpleasant for especially advanced music engineers, but the only thing that separates the current studio from the most popular on the planet, you won't believe it, is the lack of a full-fledged conductor and clever use of loops (like, God forgive me, Acid). The explorer that is now-is inseparable from the main window -10, very slow -5, poorly reads the tempo -50, does not read the key -25, visually looks depressing - 5. In total, the explorer works at 5% out of 100
